I’M THE WOLF MAN
Round Robin is a rotund gent, rather like Chubby Checker, and got into the dances of the day with his songs. He was 'discovered' by Lloyd Thaxton who had his regularly on his Los Angeles television show. Just as Chubby vigorously promoted the Twist, Round Robin plugged his west coast dance 'The Slauson.'
In the summer of '64 Round Robin got as close to a hit as he ever would, and part of it was the national promotion that he did for his single of "Kick That Little Foot Sally Ann." Robin was part of the Dick Clark Caravan of Stars that summer and wherever he went, radio played the record. The only problem was, it seemed they stopped playing it soon after the tour left town.
Round Robin was a rotund gent, rather like Chubby Checker, and got into the dances of the day with his songs. On this record you get the one of his best numbers ever – and one that is often overlooked. It’s from June 1965 and the topside is “”I’m The Wolf Man.” It’s very much like a really rocked up Sam The Sham record with a real fuzzed out guitar. On the flip you’ll hear “Sit And Dance.”
