Description

Mega Rare Original 1967 UK TRUE Stereo 1st Pressing 'Their Satanic Majesties Request' by The Rolling Stones!!! Pristine Unblemished Nr Mint 1st Press Thick & Chunky Viny w/ Uncorrected Matrixl!!! Complete with 1st Press Ex++ 'Darker Blue' 3D Hologram Laminated Robert Stace Sleeve and Original Ex++ 'Red Smoke' Inner Sleeve!!! Very, Very Rare as a True UK Stereo 1st Pressing and Almost impossible to Find in this Kind of Condition!!!

You are bidding on a STUNNING Nr Mint UK un-boxed Decca 1967 1st Stereo Pressing of 'Their Satanic Majesties Request', by The Rolling Stones!!! This is the true UK 1st Stereo pressing and will probably be your only chance to own this record in this kind of condition throughout!!! There are a number of features that make this particular record so very rare. Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, it has the hugely rare uncorrected Matrix Endings!!!! The first pressings of this record had 1P/P1 Matrix Endings. This was an error that was almost immediately resolved by adding a tiny '1' after the Side 1 matrix ending of 1P.  Virtually ALL 1st pressings have this matrix correction on Side 1. It is impossible to find one such as THIS that doesn't. I have only ever seen one other copy with uncorrected matrix endings and it was in very poor condition. In fact there is one other currently listed on eBay but it is only in VG+ condition. THIS ONE IS IN STRAIGHT NR MINT VISUAL CONDITION - THE BEST YOU WILL EVER SEE!!! Aside from having the mega rare earliest 1st press un-corrected matrix-ending, there are also a number of other features that identify this as the true 1st press.  It has the EARLIEST 1967 UK Unboxed Grooved Decca Green/Silver Stereo 'Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound - ffss' labels.

Matrix numbers are Side 1 - ZAL-8126-T2-6K. Side 2 - ZAL-8127-T2-7K, with the mega early mother stampers: 1 DH & 1 KK!!!

Secondly it is complete with the Earliest 'Mono' Robert Stace laminated holographic sleeve. The very first pressings were issued in a Mono holographic sleeves as no stereo sleeve had been issued at the time this Stereo pressing was made!!! The colouring is a much darker blue on these 1st press sleeve than on the later sleeves (which were more turquoise in colour). It also has the important 'Mono TXS 103' box printed on the bottom of the spine. It is also important to note that this record is fully complete with its TRUE UK 1st press 'red smoke' inner sleeve, again, in absolutely breathtaking condition with NO seam wear/splits or scribbles etc!!! This record and sleeve are in STUNNING condition throughout!!! You will not find a better example of this rare record!!! When this album turns up today it almost always has been trashed; in terrible condition with lots of marks & scratches etc. This one IS NOT!!! Aside from being the true UK 1st pressing, what makes this one SO rare is its STUNNING condition!!! This thick & chunky vinyl has the most beautiful shop-fresh, deep glass-like shine, it really looks as if this record could have been pressed yesterday - it is that good!!! There are no visible marks to the playing surfaces whatsoever save for the occasional non-feelable paper-line, totally invisible unless holding the record angled toward strong light and simply caused by removing the record from the inner sleeve!!! You will not find a better 1st press example of this Psych Classic!!! A truly breathtaking 1st press example of this rare album, it is the best I have ever seen -  don't miss it!!!

I have gone into greater detail below but all you really need to know is that, firstly, the actual disc is simply STUNNING!!! The 1st press 'Dark Blue' Robert Stace laminated holographic gatefold sleeve is also superb, as is the rare original 1st press red 'smoke' inner sleeve - which has no seam wear/splits or scribbles etc. It is by far the best copy of this album that I have ever seen, let alone had the pleasure of owning. Check it out below...

Cat No:

TXS 103

1st Press Matrix:

Side 1 - ZAL-8126-T2-6K

Side 2 -  ZAL-8127-T2-7K

The Classic 1st press Green/Silver unboxed Decca centre labels are in stunning condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Grubbyness, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! There are just some very light spindle lines. The gramophone rims containing the all important 1st press matrix's are MINT-!!!

The disc looks like it came off the master press this morning!!! Impossible for a 1967 UK Decca 1st pressing!!! It has all the deep shine a newly pressed record that as only ever been played once before!!!  The record still retains ALL its original glass like gloss and shine and has NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves!!! The record itself has NO jumps, NO skips and NO nasty loud pops!!! There is some very light crackle on the run-in grooves which all but disappears as soon as the band kicks in, it almost completely disappears into the record with just a very light resurgence between tracks which themselves become almost completely quiet as the record progresses through the side. Please note that this is just the normal light between track crackle and has NOT been caused by excessive playing of this record!!! On a very light set up (as I have on my Mitchell Gyrodec SE) you may experience a small 'catch' midway through '2000 Light Years From Home'. Setting slightly heaver damping on the tonearm overcame this issue immediately when I play-graded.  It easily play grades as Ex++!!! The thick quality pressed chunky 1960's vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!). A truly stunning record!!! I have no hesitation whatsoever with grading this vinyl visually as a straight Nr Mint!!!  This record is THAT good!!! In fact one supposed Nr Mint copy of this record was recently sold on eBay for £127. Yet the seller stated it had numerous hairlines - so go figure.... Please rest assured that my grading is 100% accurate!! Its as simple as that!!! This record is suitable for the highest grade psych collection - you will not find a better example!!)

The classic 1st press thickly laminated Robert Stace holographic laminated gatefold sleeve is also in tremendous condition!!! These 1st press sleeves always turn up totally worn out-looking nowadays with severe damage, especially to the unprotected edges and un-laminated inner gatefold. Suffice to say, they have not remained in prime condition over the years. THIS SLEEVE IS DIFFERENT!! It is in superb condition with  Perfectly preserved laminate, NO Tears, NO Stains, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind - It is completely blemish free!!! The laminate is in beautifully preserved condition with a beautiful glossy sheen and NO cracking and NO Lifting anywhere!!! The spine is MINT- with perfectly legible spine text and a beautiful unbroken laminate sheen!!! The spine has NONE of the common laminate cracking!!! There is  just a very light crease in the bottom left corner of the sleeve but it is hardly visible due to the the fact is so light coupled with the pattern of the sleeve. The hologram is nice and tight to the sleeve and is not coming unpeeled etc. It is Mint- save for some of the light bowing as is very common with these plastic holograms, giving the sleeve a slight bow. The sleeve opens up to reveal a beautiful un-laminated inner gatefold which is in A1 condition!!! It has no nasty stains or scribbles etc. This sleeve easily grades at least Excellent+ at the very least (most would grade it much higher!!!)  Comes complete with its ORIGINAL 'red flame' Inner sleeve, which aside from one very light corner crease is in STUNNING Mint- condition!!! The inner is perfect with NO discolouration and NO writing/scribbles!!! Importantly, it has no seam wear or splitting as is common with these original fragile inner sleeves. It is very rare to find these original inner sleeves in this condition anymore and to further protect this one during shipping, it will safely be tucked away, empty, inside the outer jacket. The actual disc will come to you housed in a replacement poly lined inner sleeve and will be housed outside the jacket. This will protect the rare original inner sleeve from 'knifing' to the seams from the record during transit  (see my packing information below for more details).

This really is a one off chance to own a superb example of this the scarce UK Press of this rare and classic LP. Don't miss this one as copies like this only come around very rarely, and never show up in this condition anymore!!! Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
