The Rolling Stones : Their Satanic Majesties Request 1P / P1 1st Mono Press 1967
This genuine first pressing plays to a very high standard with only minimal intrusion. There are no clicks or pops and overall the clarity is very impressive. A little light static here and there but as you can see from my audio grading below it is intermittent and hardly gets in the way of the audio. The vast majority of this classic album is superb!
The lenticular cover has to be the best I have ever seen! It is STUNNING with no obvious wear and has retained its original shape and structure perfectly. The red / white inner sleeve has also been very well cared for with only very minimal creasing.
This first pressing is known as the true mono mix. It has the 1P/P1 matrix and on 'The Lantern' the bell tolls three times on the intro. It has grooved turquoise labels also.

The audio on S1 is Near Mint (T3 Mint- (snore VG+!) / T4 Mint-)
The audio on S2 is Near Mint (T2 Ex+ / T3 Ex / T4 intro Ex)

The labels are Mint-
Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition and still has a strong glossy sheen with no obvious marks or scratches. There are a couple of faint hairline scuffs on S1 and a few faint hairlines on both sides but there is certainly nothing that stands out. A couple of longer hairlines on S2 but these are still faint and only noticeable under a bright light when you tilt the vinyl at a certain angle. The turquoise grooved labels are very clean with only some spindle wear. The KT tax stamp can be seen on both run out grooves.
Play grading
The intro on 'Sing This All together' plays so clearly with only a hint of very light static and the opening vocal section then plays with zero intrusion. The instrumental is as 'clear as day', the playback is faultless, and the final vocal is equally as strong. This is easily a Near Mint start to this classic album.
'Citadel' plays with outstanding quality from the get go. The intro is perfect and opening vocal has no background. It continues in the same - the brief silent section has a couple of obvious statics and then the remainder plays with genuine power and depth and no interference. Richards' work here is so strong here and the sonic quality is hugely impressive. Another Near Mint track in my opinion.
'In Another Land' plays with superb audio through every section. Wyman showing just how good a writer he could be when given the chance! The clarity of sound is stunning and there is nothing getting in the way of the audio. You can hear each note so clearly and Mint- is well deserved here. A psychedelic classic. The 'snore' does have some static and a little crackle so I will grade this particular section as VG+
The intro on '2000 Man' plays with stunning quality with only a couple of mega light statics just prior to the first vocal. Jagger's opening vocal is then so clean and precise and the first Oh Daddy chorus is superb! So strong and dynamic and the depth on the audio could not be any more impressive. It continues to play with impeccable quality with only a couple of statics on the fade out. Mint-
The quiet intro on 'Sing This All Together (See What Happens)' has only minimal light static and the 'spoken' section is perfect. The opening instrumental passage plays with stunning accuracy - there is no background and even as the volume decreases for a brief moment there is no drop in quality. The first 'crescendo' type section is brilliant! Great power and no distortion and it continues to play with a sonic quality that cannot be faulted. The quieter section towards the end including the final vocal has no interference and the final piano note is very clean also. There is a little static during the 'silence' but then the end 'instrumental' has no intrusion aside from a couple of crackles right at the end. Near Mint
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 'spoken' intro on 'She's A Rainbow' has no interference and the piano intro then plays with great clarity as does the opening vocal. This classic continues to play with outstanding quality, the audio definition is superb. There is barely any static during the quieter piano sections and the John Paul Jones arranged string passages play beautifully. There are no ticks, clicks or pops and Near Mint is a fair assessment of the audio.
The intro on 'The Lantern' has a little static but nothing intrusive as such and the acoustic section is very clean. The first vocal has no background and this standard is pretty much maintained throughout. There is perhaps just a hint of minor background static for a fleeting moment in a couple of places but certainly nothing that intrudes on the sound quality. I will say Ex+ but the vast majority is stronger than that.
'Gomper' has a little static on the intro but again this is not loud and from then onwards plays with no clicks or pops but does have a little static here and there mainly during the quieter sections. Ex
The intro on '2000 Light Years From Home' has a little static and as the tracks 'kicks in' the playback is stunning. There is a real sense of depth here and there is no interference. It continues to play with sublime clarity and warmth and the quieter / silent section near the end is a case in point, great clarity here. The remainder keeps up the good work and even the closing section plays with impeccable clarity. The intro is Ex and Near Mint from then onwards.
'On With The Show' plays with phenomenal quality for a final track and especially for this album! From the outset it plays with exceptional quality and even the 'busy' instrumental section has barely any distortion. The rest of this eccentric track play very clearly with no obvious background and again very little distortion. I think Near Mint sums it up very well.
The Lenticular Cover & Red / White Inner Sleeve
The cover as stated is one of the finest example I have ever seen with barely any wear. The top edges are stunning and the bottom edges have only minimal rubbing which you hardly notice anyway. The spine is practically as good as new with no wear on the corners and the right hand corners are super clean also with only a minor 'rub' bottom right. The opening edge has barely any handling wear. The front cover is stunning and the 3D image remains perfectly attached. There is just one very small 'laminate lift' in the top left corner and a small crease bottom left. The back cover is also in fantastic condition and the inside of the gatefold is as clean as the day when first issued. This is about as good as it gets! Superb!
The original inner sleeve has also been preserved so well without any side splits or tears, no marking and only very minimal creasing.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Many thanks.
All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
