THE VINYL GRADES A SOLID NM-.  THE RECORD HAS ONE LIGHT MARK AT THE END OF SIDE 1 WHICH IN NO WAY AFFECTS THE PLAY IN ANY WAY, I HAVE PLAY TESTED THIS LP AND IT IS AMAZING.  OTHERWISE THE LP LOOKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN RARELY PLAYED AND RETAINS ALL OF IT'S ORIGINAL GLOSS AND LUSTER.  THIS IS TRULY A TOP COPY OF THIS LP IN EVERY WAY AND DESERVES TO BE IN TH HANDS OF A TRUE STONES FANATIC.

THE COVER GRADES EX+NM-  THE COVER IS ALSO TRULY IN EXTRAORDINARY SHAPE CONSIDERING THE RARITY OF GOOD COVERS OF THIS LP.  IT HAS ONLY SOME LIGHT CREASING ON THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF THE FRONT.  THE THREE DIMENSIONAL PORTION OF THE COVER IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND IS ATTACHED FIRMLY TO THE REMAINDER OF THE COVER.  THE SPINE IS GREAT AND THERE IS NO REAL WEAR IF ANY KIND.  EVEN THE ORIGINAL INNER SLEEVE IS INCLUDED AND IS IN FANTASTIC SHAPE.

I WILL PLAY TEST ON MY BRAND NEW BENZ CARTRIDGE PER REQUEST.  FOR A LIST OF REMAINDER OF MY EQUIPMENT, SEE MY EXPLANATION TO BIDDERS BELOW.

I DO NOT USE MINT HAS A HIGHEST GRADE I USE NM ONLY, AGREEING WITH GOLDMINE THAT NO RECORD IS TRULY PERFECT.  BELOW YOU WILL FIND MY SHIPPING INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES TO GRADING FOR THOSE NOT FAMILIAR WITH GOLDMINE.  THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AT MY AUCTIONS AND PLEASE BE SURE TO LOOK AT MY OTHER ITEMS FOR SALE.  BID WITH CONFIDENCE.

Attention all bidders:

Customer satisfaction is important to me, so always be sure to contact me immediately with questions or problems.  My feedback is perfect for a reason.  Life is not perfect, but issues are usually resolved when cooler heads are allowed to prevail.  I have over 25 years experience grading and collecting records.

I offer a variety of shipping options to allow you to receive the item as you choose.  I use only professional grade lp mailers for all of my shipments, and on high dollar records I will always provide an after market poly-lined inner sleeve to insure that there is no damage to the record, or either sleeve in the shipping process.  Because of recent eBay format changes pay no attention to remarks in the shipping guidelines.  Priority mail within the United States is recommended and will be calculated according to destination.  Media mail is also available at request and insurance is once again recommended, but not required.  As always, I will combine shipping for multiple orders.  International orders will be dealt with individually according to the shippers needs, and insurance is recommended on all orders domestic and international.  I understand that in some countries that insuring an item causes a dramatic customs fee, but I cannot stress enough how important insurance is, and that I cannot be held liable in any way, shape, or form for items that are damaged in the mail.  Insurance is not free and will be determined on a transaction to transaction basis.

I use strict Goldmine standards for all of my grading, and on records that I expect and grade all LP’s under extremely bright light.   I will play test anything upon request on my Music Hall MMF-7, Sugden integrated amplifier, and Proac bookshelves to give all the audiophiles out there a real idea of exactly what they can expect.  Generally I will play test anything that stands to sell for over $100, just to insure a proper grade.  As specific as Goldmine is, it still largely open to interpretation so I like to give the listener all the information I can so that everyone is satisfied and we can all avoid the return process.  I DO NOT USE MINT HAS MY HIGHEST GRADE I USE NM.   I GRADE CONSERVATIVELY TO INSURE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

I will list Goldmine’s guide in all of these auctions so that everyone has an updated version of their grading system.  I truly prefer Paypal.  I am open to receiving money orders in the mail, but Paypal is so quick and easy, and I do not charge an additional 3% surcharge.  So take advantage of having your order ship the next day by using Paypal, and good luck.  Thank you for bidding on my auctions.  Bid with confidence.

Goldmine grading system:

Mint (M)

These are absolutely perfect in every way.  Often rumored but rarely seen, Mint should never be used unless more than one person agrees that the record or sleeve truly is in this condition.  There is no set percentage of the Near Mint value these can bring; it is best negotiated between buyer and seller.

Near Mint (NM or M-)

A good description of a NM record is “it looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time.”  In other words, it’s nearly perfect.  Many dealers won’t use a grade higher than this, implying (perhaps correctly) that no record or sleeve is ever truly perfect.

NM records are shiny with no visible defects.  Writing, stickers or other markings cannot appear on the label, nor can any “spindle marks” from someone trying to blindly put the record on the turntable.  Major factory defects also must not be present; a record and label obviously pressed off center is not Near Mint.  If played, it will do so with no surface noise.  (NM records don’t need to be “never played”; a record used on an excellent turntable can remain NM after many plays if the disc is properly cared for.)

NM covers have no creases, ring wear or seam splits of any kind.

These are high standards, and they are not on a sliding scale.  A record or sleeve from the 1950’s must meet the same standards from the 1990’s or 2000’s to be Near Mint.  This  is why they fetch such high prices, even for more common items.  Do not assume your records are Near Mint.  They must meet these standards to qualify!

Very Good Plus (VG+) or Excellent (E)

A good description of a VG+ record is “except for a couple of minor things, this would be Near Mint.”  Most collectors, especially the ones who play their records, will be happy with a VG+  record, especially if it is toward the high end of the grade (sometimes called VG++ or E+)

VG+ records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience.  Slight warps that do not affect sound are ok.  Minor signs of handling are ok too, such as tell-tale marks around the center hole. But repeated playing has not misshapen the hole.  There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration but it should be barely noticeable

VG+ covers should have only minor wear.  A VG+ cover might have some minor seam wear or a split (less than one inch long) at the bottom the most vulnerable section.   A VG+ cover may have some defacing such as a cut-out marking.

Very Good (VG)

Many of the imperfections found on a VG+ record are more obvious on a VG record.  That said, VG records – which usually sell for no more than 25 percent of a NM record – are among the biggest bargains in record collecting, because most of the “big money” goes for more perfect copies.  For many listeners, a VG record or sleeve will be worth the money.

VG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape.  They lack most of the original gloss found on factory fresh records.  Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with your fingernail.  When played, a VG record has surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and ending.  But the noise will not overpower the music otherwise.  They remain a fine listening experience, just not the same as if it was in better shape.

Lower Grades are not applicable.  I do not sell records that do not meet the requirements of VG
