Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 albums that I have acquired over a period of more than 45 years! Purchased from new in 1981. This features the early A-2 B-3 Matrix endings. I do not recall ever playing this record when I initially purchased it! It looks totally unplayed in my opinion. No marks no spider trails , just like it has just come from the shop! Very very rare for a 36 year old Rolling Stones record! The album has always been stored in a case with the cover separated from the vinyl and sleeve for protection. This is how I have always stored my records!
The rarety and collectability about this album is that this album is in near mint condition looks unplayed , only played one time by me only from new just to record the album for you to hear in the player below, , very very rare and scarce to ever find after 36 years! The original and correct 1st UK issue unlaminated cover and record sleeve insert is in exceptional condition also. Note: I have fully play tested the vinyl and recorded this for you to hear for your self in the player below, At very loud volume prior to listing The audio is absolutely beautiful very clear and vibrant throughout without signs of any distortion or that this has ever been played before what so ever, I have graded the audio near as mint as I heard it in my opinion! No Needle scratches or Marks that would cause any nasty loud constant clicks or pops!
Basically this album is a real beauty! You will not find a better sounding copy!
An Audio Archive Copy! Final Upgrade Quality!

Tattoo You is the 16th British and 18th American studio album by the Rolling Stones, released in 1981.
The follow-up to Emotional Rescue (1980), the album is mostly composed of studio outtakes recorded during the 1970s, and contains one of the band's most well-known songs, "Start Me Up", which hit second place on the United States's Billboard singles charts.
The album proved to be both a critical and commercial success upon release, reaching the top of the Billboard charts, selling more than four million copies in the United States alone and over 8.5 million copies worldwide.
It was also the final Rolling Stones album to reach the top position of the US charts, thus concluding the band's string of number-one albums there, dating back to 1971's Sticky Fingers.
Tattoo You is an album primarily composed of outtakes from previous recording sessions, some dating back a decade, with new vocals and overdubs.
Along with two new songs, the Rolling Stones put together this collection to have a new album to promote for their worldwide American Tour 1981/European Tour 1982 beginning that September.
The album's associate producer, Chris Kimsey, who'd been associated with The Stones dating back to Sticky Fingers (1971) said "Tattoo You really came about because Mick Jagger and Keith were going through a period of not getting on.
Many of the songs consisted at this point of instrumental backing tracks for which vocals had not been recorded.
Despite the eclectic nature of the album, the Rolling Stones were able to divide Tattoo You into two distinct halves: a rock and roll side backed with one focusing on ballads.
The earliest songs used for Tattoo You are "Tops" and "Waiting on a Friend". The backing tracks for both songs were cut in late 1972 during the Goats Head Soup (1973) sessions and feature Mick Taylor, not Ronnie Wood, on guitar. Taylor, who was not credited, later demanded and received a share of the album's royalties.

The vinyl is of a substantial weight compared to later press which are much more flimsier! On initial inspection of the playing surface has retained its original sheen from new and indeed looks almost like it did the day that it came from the shop in my opinion, and lays perfectly flat on the turntable. (Please note! I have double checked this, no warping) This is free of any warping. I find it hard to see any real nasty surface marks or scratches), importantly No nasty needle scratches at least no real audio sounding marks or scratches to mention , No marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops during the audio that I heard! No Distortion Stunning Top Audio Quality! ( Hear for yourself in the player above) Any other marks that there could possibly be would be light whispy sleeve removal scuff type only. (Looks almost like a new vinyl in my opinion)
Quite unbelievable to find after 40 years!
The Audio Quality
I have played this vinyl one time prior to listing, at very loud volume on a top system, This 36 year old vinyl plays through as good as a new vinyl would in my opinion! Just listen to the separation and the clarity! The audio is absolutely beautiful, crystal clear and very vibrant with that deep bassey feel that you get only found like this on these early originals! I heard (no) loud clicks or pops during the audio and amazingly no real surface or background static during the audio and importantly no distortion or signs that this has been overplayed at all! There are Certainly no skips or jumps! This plays without the usual background surface noise that is so often heard on these early pressings. Please allow for isolated static/ticks may be heard in quiet places or at intros/in between tracks, common on these early eighties pressings. Note: Because this has been laying dormant for many years in a case, It will need a constant clean before each play to reduce any static ticks and enhance the audio quality. It is noted that I saw debrit on the playing surface after play.) Importantly No real problems heard during the main audio at all) I also could not see any scratches or marks! I would grade the audio very near mint throughout!
An audiophile Audio archive copy never need to upgrade in my opinion!
Hear for your self in the player above, actual recording from the vinyl!
Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion when describing the audio quality of this album and those who know the listings and vinyls that i sell my prime interest is the audio quality! Please allow for the odd isolated static crackle /tick/ticks, but nothing heard consistent through out the audio! No Loud constant clicks or pops! This is a genuine (not) reissue vinyl that is 36 years old and would have been played on a system that is 36 years old! Audio like new in my opinion.
Please note, this album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 36 years or more. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static\ crackle. A constant clean before each play is recommended. This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality. Points to note, I notice debrit on the playing surface after play so this will need cleaning before each play which will further enhance this audio quality.
The Labels
This is the original yellow Rolling Stones Records labels! (correct for this 1981 pressing) A truly unique becoming scarce copy in lovely, barely played condition!
There is (no) spindle ware (the hole is perfectly round) see photo. In strong light I find it hard to even see a spider trail at all around the spindle hole. In my opinion this looks unplayed!
The Record Sleeve
This is the original 1st UK issue card type record sleeve no edge splits or tears. Features the correct cataloge number CUNS 39114 The vinyl is always stored separately from the cover and record sleeve for protection. This is how I always store my records.
The Cover
This is the original 1st UK issue unlaminated cover. Being primarily black at the edges , these are hard to find in nice condition. There is no nasty creases on the cover worth to mention. Just very minor small crease top left hand corner but not noticed unless looked for in my opiniion. rubbing wear at the spine and edges to mention only. Any indents/marks/ you have to look for to notice in my opinion. The spine is square and almost perfect and all text can be read. All text is readable and no nasty handwriting or names written. I would grade this cover at least excellent plus to very near mint in my opinion.
HOW I SEND MY RECORDS!
