Description

Sticky Fingers was The Rolling Stones' ninth UK and eleventh US studio album. It was released on 23rd April 1971 and was the band's first release on the newly formed Rolling Stones Records label. It was also the first Rolling Stones album to feature Mick Taylor, who replaced Brian Jones after the latter's death in 1969. The album, which is regarded as one of the Stones' best, containing songs such as the chart-topping "Brown Sugar" and the country ballad "Wild Horses", along with the 2 part, Latin-inspired, "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", reached #1 in US and #1 in UK album charts.

The album's artwork emphasises the suggestive innuendo of the Sticky Fingers title, showing a close-up of a jeans-clad male crotch. The cover of the original (vinyl) release Which this is). Also features a working zipper and mock belt buckle that opens to reveal cotton briefs (see photographs).

I have owned this copy of the album since I bought it shortly after it was released. As you can see from the photographs, it is complete with the insert showing a picture of the band and song information and is in good condition. I am selling only because I am downsizing.

The record has the matrix numbers COC-59100-A1 and COC-59100-B3. It is not warped. It has fingerprints dust and fluff, but there are no scratches or scuffs. It needs a clean, but other than that it looks fine. I have not played it for over 40 years so cannot confirm it plays with no jumps, sticks or skips, but when I did play it I never had a problem with it and I believe that it would play well. The labels have no rip; there are some faint spindle marks (only visible when the record is held edge-on to a light, but other than that they are fine (see photographs 7 and 8).

The sleeve is the original. It is 40 years old, but there are no tears and, as you can see from photograph 6, it is fine.

The insert is not dog-eared. Nor does it have any creases (see photographs 4 and 5). I has the look of 40-year-old paper, which is what it is, but it is in good condition for its age.

The cover. It is slightly rubbed round the corners, and bottom edge, but again, it is 40 years old. There is one small tear and a crease, on the front cover, next to the belt buckle. This shows as a white spot on photograph 1. The wording on the spine "THE ROLLING STONES - STICKY FINGERS" and "COC 59100" is legible. however, the top of the lettering "THE ROLLING STONES - STICKY FINGERS" has suffered from rubbing.
