Very RARE German Club Edition first pressing of The Rolling Stones single "(I Can`t Get No) Satisfaction" b/w "The Under-Assistant West Coast Promotion Man" on Decca Records (August 1965).
"(Keith) Richards wrote "Satisfaction" in his sleep and recorded a rough version of the riff on a Philips cassette player. He had no idea he had written it. He said when he listened to the recording in the morning, there was about two minutes of acoustic guitar before you could hear him drop the pick and "then me snoring for the next forty minutes". - From the wikipedia entry on "(I Can`t Get No) Satisfaction".
GRADING:
VG(+) COVER in slightly worn condition. Please see the photos for details.
- Original glossy German picture sleeve with a bit of overall wear, as shown.
- Some wear (discolouring) to the bottom edge, including a two-inch seam split (at center).
- Light general creasing and a few small (1-2 mm) tears along opening edge.
- Initials ("M St."), as well as stamped name/address on the front sleeve (at top right).
- Comes with a new surplus 7" sleeve.
- Visually, the record has light general hairlining, but no scratches or scuffs whatsoever.
- Play-graded EX with minor crackle in the run-in and run-out, but otherwise impeccable audio reproduction throughout.
- Original first-pressing wine-red Decca Records "Club Edition" labels with stamped-out centerpiece.
- Initials ("M St.") written on the labels, as well as name/address stamp of the one-time owner.
- The record is certified to be an original German Club Edition pressing of "Satisfaction" b/w "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man", released in August 1965.
