Description

Rolling Stones, Sticky Fingers

Original first pressing

Rolling Stones Records, (distributed by Atco Records, Division of Atlantic Record Corporation as Stereo LP COC-59100

I purchased this record new shortly after its release in 1971, and have maintained it very well ever since.  It has been played several times, but always on high-end turntables and tone arms (never on a changer.) I played it recently, to assess its overall quality, and can  say that this it is in excellent condition, with no visible signs of wear, and only one or two scratches or “pops,” which can be heard only very briefly and sporadically. The overall surface quality is excellent.  While there surface noise on the lead-in grooves,  there are very few places where any surface noise is audible.

The sleeve is original, with a photo of the Stones on the front and the red tongue logo on the reverse.  It is clean and crisp, with no marks, creases or folds and only a few light wrinkles from handling.

The jacket is the original Andy Warhol design, with a working zipper and an inner liner revealing the subject in his briefs. There are some light shelf-wear scuffs on the top and bottom edges, and the top of the jeans, which serves as part of the closure for the buckle, has been creased by curious peeping behind the zipper (see detail photo).  Overall, however, the jacket is very clean, unmarked and otherwise unmarred.

As a package, this album is likely to be one of the better ones on the market. It will be wrapped in bubble paper and shipped postage free within the U.S. via USPS Media Mail in a sturdy cardboard record mailer, with internal stiffeners.  Other shipping may be arranged at buyer's expense subject to calculation prior to final sale and invoice.
