Description
Mega Rare Original 1966 Decca Records UK TRUE Mono 1st Pressing (1G Stampers & Blue Unboxed 'ffrr' Decca Labels!) 'Big Hits [High Tide and Green Grass] by The Rolling Stones!!! Absolutely BREATHTAKING Condition!!! - Unblemished 1st Press Thick & Chunky Vinyl!!! Complete with 1st Press Laminated Robert Stace Gatefold Sleeve w/ 1st Issue Stapled Inner Booklet and Original 'Red Bordered' Mono Inner Sleeve!!! Very, Very Rare as a True UK Mono 1st Pressing and Impossible to Find in this Kind of Condition!!!
Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) I have been collecting very rare vinyl for a long time now. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and only selected the most pristine 1st pressings from all over the UK. My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, all will be finding new homes in the near future. I hope you enjoy my listings.
You are bidding on a STUNNING UK Decca 1966 1st Stereo Pressing of 'Big Hits [High Tide & Green Grass]', by The Rolling Stones!!! There are a number of features that make this particular record as the very earliest UK Mono 1st pressing and very rare. Firstly it is the EARLIEST UK Unboxed Decca Mono 1st Pressing on the Blue unboxed 'Full Frequency Range Recording - ffrr' Decca labels. Matrix numbers are Side 1 - XARL-7503-2A. Side 2 - XARL-7504-3A, and importantly, it has the mega rare early mother stampers: 1 H & 1 G!!! Finding a 1G mother stamper on this record is impossible, I have never seen another!!!!!! Secondly it is complete with the Earliest Robert Stace laminated gatefold sleeve. This differs from all later pressings in that it has the stapled inner booklet, which is in superb intact condition (all later pressings did not have this booklet stapled in). It also has the important 'Mono/Stereo Eye Hole' die cut into the top right corner on the reverse of the sleeve. It is also important to note that this record is fully complete with its TRUE UK 1st press red banded 'Mono' poly-lined inner sleeve, again, in absolutely breathtaking condition with NO seam wear or scribbles etc!!! However, what is even more important is that this vinyl is in absolutely stunning Near Mint condition! It is by far the best conditioned UK 1st pressing I have ever seen! This record and sleeve are in STUNNING condition throughout!!! You will not find a better example of this rare record! When this album turns up today it is almost always has been trashed; in terrible condition with lots of marks & scratches etc, and the 1st issue sleeves are almost always missing their stapled booklets. However, this has none of those issues!!! Aside from being the true UK 1st pressing, what makes this one SO rare is its STUNNING condition!!! This thick & chunky vinyl has the most beautiful shop-fresh, deep glass-like shine, it really looks as if this record could have been pressed yesterday - it is that good!!! There are no visible marks to the playing surfaces whatsoever!!! You will NEVER find a better 1st press example of this Stones Classic - it will never need upgrading!!! A truly breathtaking 1st press example of this rare album, it is the best I have ever seen - don't miss it!!!
I have gone into greater detail below but all you really need to know is that, firstly, the actual disc is simply STUNNING!!! The 1st press stapled booklet Robert Stace laminated gatefold 1st press sleeve is also superb, as is the rare original 1st press red 'Mono' inner sleeve - which has no seam wear or scribbles etc. It is by far the best copy of this album that I have ever seen, let alone had the pleasure of owning. Check it out below...

1st Press Matrix:
Side 1 - XARL-7503-2A (1 H)
Side 2 - XARL-7504-3A (1 G)
This vinyl is in stunning immaculate condition!!! The Classic 1st press Blue unboxed Mono Decca centre labels are in stunning condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Grubbyness, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! There are just some very wispy spindle alignment lines. The gramophone rims containing the all important 1st press matrix's are MINT-!!!
As described above - the thick & chunky 1st press vinyl itself is in Stunning Nr Mint condition!!! There are NO Hairlines, NO Scratches, NO Groovewear, NO warping, in fact - NO blemishes of any kind save for a a wisp of a paper-line and that's it! It has a beautiful loud clear and defined mono punch that will blow you away! I have to keep reminding myself that I am describing a 42 year old record here, not one made last week!!! I can say nothing else about this chunky 1st press record - it's absolutely perfect and Near Mint!!! These Mono 1st pressings were straight from the masters and nothing even gets close to them today, especially when you find one in this kind of pristine audio condition! They play with a very loud punch but also deep clear warm chiming clarity and have to be heard to be believed! This is the best pressing you will hear and is far, far superior to the more common Stereo 1st pressings and much more common late 1970's and early 1980's repressings. Absolutely beautiful!!! The thick quality pressed chunky 1960's vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!)
The classic 1st press thickly laminated Robert Stace gatefold sleeve is also in stunning condition!!! These 1st press sleeves always turn up totally worn out-looking nowadays with severe damage, especially to the unprotected edges and un-laminated inner gatefold. And they are always missing their booklets! Suffice to say, they have not remained in prime condition over the years. THIS SLEEVE IS DIFFERENT!! It is in superb condition with beautiful crisp, clear laminate, and NO Tears, NO Stains, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind - It is completely blemish free!!! The spine is MINT- with perfectly legible spine text and a beautiful unbroken laminate sheen!!! The spine has NONE of the common laminate cracking!!! The important inner stapled booklet is also in nice crisp clean condition with both staples holding firm. The sleeve is beautifully flat, stiff and crisp, very, very close to being box fresh! There is just a very light laminate crease in the bottom right corner of the sleeve but it is just in the laminate, and does nothing to distract from this sleeve!!! The sleeve opens up to reveal a beautiful un-laminated inner gatefold which is in A1 condition!!! It has no nasty stains or scribbles etc. This sleeve easily grades at least Excellent++++ at the very least, it is just the small laminate crease in the bottom right corner and a small line of laminate lift parallel to the spine that is keeping me giving this sleeve a Near Mint grading, it really is that good! (and believe me, most eBay sellers would grade it as Near Mint!!!)
Comes complete with its ORIGINAL red 'Mono' bordered inner sleeve, which is in STUNNING Mint- condition!!! The inner is perfect with NO discolouration and NO writing/scribbles!!! Importantly, it has no seam wear or splitting as is common with these original fragile inner sleeves. It is very rare to find these original inner sleeves in this condition anymore and to further protect this one during shipping, it will safely be tucked away, empty, inside the outer jacket. The actual disc will come to you housed in a replacement poly lined inner sleeve and will be housed outside the jacket. This will protect the rare original inner sleeve from 'knifing' to the seams from the record during transit (see my packing information below for more details).
This really is a one off chance to own a stunning example of this the scarce UK Press of this rare and classic LP. Don't miss this one as copies like this only come around very rarely, and never show up in this condition anymore!!! Check out our feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price!

Postage ... Hazey Jane has absolutely NO hidden surcharges; the price you win is the price you pay, just add the relevant postage, it's as simple as that! We always combine postage so if you win more than 1 auction you save money on postage costs! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.
A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.
Eastern European Countries: We welcome bidders from Eastern Europe, however UK post will now only send to these countries via signed for delivery. Therefore you must pay at the European insured rate (see below) for all records. This applies to all the following countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech, Estonia, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine,& Yugoslavia

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards. If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...
Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.
We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
