Description

ROLLING STONES Let It Bleed, UK DECCA + MINT POSTER !!!

The Rolling Stones, Let It Bleed.

UK pressed Decca Records stereo LP, SKL 5025.

Blue label with silver print, boxed Decca logo and 6W/5W matrix suffixes.

Includes rare poster insert. This is probably a scarcer find with a boxed issue, as most posters are found with the very earliest non-boxed logo issues.

The poster insert is in stunning near mint condition, and appears to have hardly been removed from the sleeve. Clean and crisp, and without tears or marks. No corner ceasing or dog ears. Even free of the usual half moon thumbing marks that are common with such a thinly produced item.

Vinyl in visually strong VG condition. A fair amount of spider trail marks visible at centre spindle areas, although not excessively so, or to the point of whitening and fraying. Surfaces still have a high gloss, although display a few light hairline scuffs, some of which are slightly more immediately visible. There are no deep scratches or digs however.

Playback grades EX, a really bright and clean player. The surfaces are underlyingly quiet and silent and free of background crackle. I noticed just a couple of soft ticks at the beginning of Love In Vain, else no clicks or ticks, and a really pleasing listening experience throughout

Labels are clean and undulled and without damage or inscriptions.

Original blue stereo colour coded poly-lined paper inner sleeve is in excellent condition with just a couple of neat diagonal creases to bottom corners. No seam splits, tears, marks, browning or inscriptions.

External sleeve is extremely clean and grades a strong EX, with the front panel nearer EX plus and hard to better. Still with a high gloss, and just one or two of the tiniest of hairline imperfections to the laminate. Rear panel has a tad of age and handling toning, plus a couple of very small and minor tan stain spots, else is also very clean and free of noticeable marks, pen marks etc. The edges, spine and entry side are all extremely well preserved and show no wear. The tips are also well preserved, and rubbed just gently enough to still show as nice and square still.

All in all a pretty well preserved issue.

A Note On Grading:

Note that audio grading is subjective and based on sensitivity of equipment used for playback. In this instance playback has been tested on a vintage Technics Quartz Direct Drive SL1700 MKII turntable with Shure cartridge, Technics SU-C 03 amp and Technics SB-F2 Linear Phase speakers.

Also note that I generally do not clean vinyl unless so noted. Most vinyl will show improved playback quality with your preferred cleaning method, but I leave this to the prospective buyer, as controversy still surrounds the ideal method of cleaning vinyl.
