Description
THE ROLLING STONES LP, ENGLAND'S NEWEST HITMAKERS was released in 1964, and this is a very early MONO copy with the unboxed LONDON LABELS, and the "Free color photo of Rolling Stones inside" printed on cover. This was the Rolling Stones at the beginning, when they were just breaking out. Their songs sound so refined now, it's great to hear them, on vinyl that was from that time. This was the Brian Jones era Stones. He was a star in the band because of his dashing looks, and his musical taste and command of various instruments that hadn't been associated with rock music prior. But, here on this LP, Brian sticks with the guitar, harmonica, and tambourine paying reverence to the blues. It is Brian who is set apart from the rest of the band in the cover photo, and it would really remain that way until his demise.
This is a very early US MONO copy. The cover is nice, but has issues. there's a scratch across Jagger as well as another to his right. Something long and skinny pressed deep into the cover below the square at the bottom left. the bottom right corner is soft and worn. The seams are worn, and the spine took a hit next to the E in England. Back cover is nice with some ring wear and some toning from age. There is no full color poster with this LP, as it was probably tacked to a wall in 1964 by a teenage girl. Not many of them survived.. The LABELS have a fair amount of marks. The VINYL is in great shape. While it lost it's luster, it plays great with amazing mono force and clarity. There are no marks on the vinyl. Plays and sounds perfect with no surface sounds between tracks either.
