The Rolling Stones
Hot Rocks 1964-1971
London 2PS 606/7 (2 LP's)
Here is the rare version of the Rolling Stones "Hot Rocks" that is sought after by collectors. It contains the alternate versions of "Brown Sugar" and "Wild Horses" that are unavailable elsewhere. The date "11-18-71" is in the trail off area of Side 4. Playing it also confirms that these two songs are definitely alternate takes. I have scanned the front jacket and label of Side 4. The jacket has picked up some wear around the edges, some ring wear and general wear in darker areas. All seams are in tact so basically still very good. The side 4 record label shows the most wear, so that is why I scanned that one. The others are much better. Visual inspection of the records show scratching. Spot playing of the record on my Marantz turntable produced pops and clicks. I played the two alternate take songs through. "Brown Sugar" being a louder song, showed less surface noise. "Wild Horses" being more of a quieter ballad had more surface noise and pops and clicks. Overall, still a nice collectible for all you Stones fans.
