Description

Issued as a compilation album in 1980, this a record contains tracks previously only available as EP tracks on one side and live performances from London, Manchester and Liverpool between 1963 and 1969 on the other side, plus a demo tape of "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love" on side two. The tracks on side one include"Fortune Teller", covered in Australia by The Throb, and "Poison Ivy" covered in Australia by Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, and an Italian language version of "As Tears Go By". The live performances on side two are not to bad, considering the crowd noise and the recording technology of the time, however they are less well produced than the studio tracks. I bought this record new in 1980 and have looked after it, the vinyl on both sides is clean and shiny (VG+) and plays with very little surface noise, however there is a mark on side two at the beginning of track 4,(see photo 7) which has been on it since I bought it. It is not dirt, it won't clean off, and I think it was a pressing flaw. The stylus plays through it without any problems, and there is a faint "tick" sound for a couple of spins, but other than this the record plays fine, loud and clear both sides. The cover is in G+ condition with a small crease at the top RH side on the front and a couple of small dents in the bottom from storage. The front still has a dull sheen, the back also, but there is some slight yellowing discoloration from years of shelf storage. For track listings see photos 5 & 6.
