NOTEWORTHY FEATURES: THIS IS A RELATIVELY RARE ALBUM, ESPECIALLY WITH A VINYL IN SUCH GOOD CONDITION. THIS IS AN ALL ORIGINAL FIRST AND HAS ALL THE RIGHT CREDENTIALS. STARTING FROM THE OUTSIDE IT HAS A FRONT LAMINATED CLASSIC SINGLE SLIP COVER BY JAMES UPTON WITH THE 'BETWEEN THE BUTTONS' RHYME CARTOON BACK COVER. THE INNER SLEEVE IS THE EARLY BLUE PRINTED DECCA THE VINYL ITSELF IS STAMPED ON BOTH SIDES WITH THE EARLY PRESS MATRICES 4A & 4A, NOT ONLY THIS BUT IT HAS THE KT TAX CODE ON THE LABELS AND THE VINYL STAMPERS 1 & 1. IT HAS THE LOVELY RED UNBOXED AND GROOVED DECCA LABELS IN BRILLIANT CONDITION AND IMPRESSIVE HEAVY VINYL. THIS IS AND EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND RECORD AND IT PLAYS REALLY WELL - PLEASE READ MY AUDIO TEST IN GREEN TYPE FURTHER DOWN IN THIS LISTING.

 I RATE THE COMPONENTS OF THIS ALBUM AS FOLLOWS:

VINYL (visual / physical appraisal ) - TOP QUALITY SIXTIES DECCA VINYL WHICH LOOKS AND FEELS GOOD - A LOVELY RIGID HEAVY DUTY PIECE WHICH LOOKS EXQUISITE. NO OBVIOUS VISIBLE DISTORTION OR DEFORMATION WHEN TESTED ON A MOVING TURNTABLE.  SCATTERED LIGHT, WISPY AND SUPERFICIAL SURFACE SCRATCHES CAUSED BY MOVEMENTS IN AND OUT OF THE INNER SLEEVE AND A FEW SLIGHTLY MORE NOTICEABLE ONES WHICH HAVE NO TANGIBLE DEPTH AND NO AUDIO CONSEQUENCE. BRILLIANT GLOSSY BLACK SHINE - MY RATING 86%

LABELS - SUPERB, A FEW LIGHT HANDLING MARKS AND VERY FEW LIGHT WISPY SPINDLE LINES, NO APPARENT WEAR TO THE SPINDLE HOLE - OVERALL AS GOOD AS I HAVE SEEN ON A 40 YEAR OLD CAREFULLY USED RECORD (Please see photographs) - MY RATING 88%

OUTER COVER - THE CLASSIC SINGLE SLIP COVER IN GENERALLY GOOD CONDITION. COVER PHOTOGRAPH BY GERED MANKOWITZ, CARTOONS BY CHARLIE WATTS. FRONT LAMINATED AND Printed In England by James Upton Ltd. Birmingham & London - FRONT COVER HAS A CREASES ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT QUADRANT WHICH IS OBVIOUS BUT NOT SEVERE. HOWEVER, WHILE THE COVER OVERALL IS REMARKABLY GOOD FOR ITS AGE FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON THERE IS A SMALL OBLONG PIECE MISSING FROM THE LEADING EDGE WHICH HAS BEEN NEATENED UP AND HAND COLOURED TO MATCH (see photographs). THERE ARE BRUISES AT THE LEADING EDGE WHERE THE RECORD ENTERS THE COVER AND FEATHERING. THE BACK HAS A FEW BROWN STAINS (see photographs) - MY RATING 70% (without the modification to the front piece it would rate 80%+)

SPINE - REMARKABLY GOOD, A LITTLE SQUASHED, A FEW TINY LAMINATE BREAKS AND SMALL CREASES BUT CLEAN, CLEAR AND FULLY READABLE - MY RATING 80%

INNER SLEEVE - ORIGINAL blue PRINTED DECCA WITH ANTISTATIC POLY- LINER LIGHTLY CREASED, GENTLY BROWNING / DISCOLOURED THROUGH AGE, AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION - MY RATING 80%

REAL AUDIO TEST / SOUND CHECK: TO ASSIST BUYERS I HAVE DECIDED TO ADD A SPECIFIC AUDIO QUALITY COMMENT BASED ON MY HEARING. I HAVE NOT DONE THIS BEFORE BECAUSE TO SOME EXTENT IT IS AN ‘INDIVIDUAL PERSONAL THING’ BUT WHEN SOMEBODY IS MAKING CLAIMS OF VERY GOOD, EXCELLENT OR MINT ABOUT A VINYL I THINK BUYERS ARE ENTITLED TO HAVE AN OPINION ABOUT HOW IT SOUNDS. I PLAY ALL MY VINYLS ON A PRO-JECT DEBUT lll DECK FITTED WITH AN ORTOFON OM 5E CARTRIDGE; DOWNFORCE SET AT 17.5 mN (1.75 g) THROUGH AN AMPLIFIER WITH BASS & TREBLE SET TO ZERO AND UNFILTERED. I WILL RATE THEM IN PERCENTAGE TERMS, AS I DO FOR THE OTHER COMPONENTS OF THE ALBUM; WITH OF COURSE A SPECIFIC COMMENT IF THEY SKIP, JUMP, SLIDE, SLIP OR SLUR ALTHOUGH I DO NOT EXPECT TO BE SELLING ANY VINYLS WITH THOSE DEFECTS. FOR THE ALBUM IN THIS LISTING THE RESULTS FOLLOW IN GREEN PRINT.

(REPEAT OF AN EARLIER STONES UNBOXED GROOVED FIRST PRESS DECCA VINYL AUDIO REVIEW BECAUSE THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE, THEY'RE BOTH FIRST RATE) I HAD TO TRY REALLY HARD TO LISTEN FOR AUDIO FAULTS BECAUSE THE WHOLE ALBUM IS SO EXCITING AND ENJOYABLE. I CHALLENGE ANYBODY TO SIT THROUGH THIS WITHOUT HAVING THE URGE TO GET UP AND DANCE. THIS IS A BRILLIANT ALBUM AND AN OUTSTANDING VINYL - FOR ME THIS WAS PURE AUDIO PLEASURE. EXCITING, BRILLIANT, SENSATIONAL. I WAS DELIGHTED AND ENTHRALLED BY THE QUALITY OF THE AUDIO PERFORMANCE DELIVERED BY THIS DECCA VINYL. THIS IS ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE TRULY ASTONISHING VINYLS FROM THE SIXTIES THAT CONTINUES TO CONVINCE YOU THAT YOU ARE STILL 'THERE' EVERY TIME YOU LISTEN TO THEM.  FLUENT, UNINTERRUPTED PURE LISTENING PLEASURE. SOME SURFACE SOUND ON THE LEAD IN TO THE FIRST TRACK AND LIGHT CRACKLE HERE AND THERE THROUGHOUT, BUT REALLY THE ONLY WAY TO LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC - THIS VINYL CERTAINLY GIVES THIS MUSIC AT ITS BEST - MY RATING 85%

HOWEVER, IF YOU PREFER DESCRIPTIONS OF CONDITION USING A MORE WIDELY RECOGNISED INDUSTRY STANDARD MY INTERPRETATION OF THE 'RECORD COLLECTORS' GRADING SYSTEM SUGGESTS THAT ALL THE COMPONENTS OF THIS ALBUM WOULD BE CATEGORISED AS COVER 'GOOD' AND VINYL 'EXCELLENT' (the only reason the cover is not rated nearer excellent is due to the small missing piece on the front which can be seen in the photographs)

Makes no sense to me to buy something important and then play the ‘high risk of damage game’ when having it shipped around the world – I hope you feel the same. Packing and Postage charges differ internationally SO I ALWAYS RECOMMEND THAT OVERSEAS BUYERS ASK FOR THESE COSTS BEFORE BIDDING. Unless the prospective bidder / buyer states a preference I always quote Airmail as Surface Mail does not usually cost much less and takes a long time (again more risk of damage or loss I think). Also please note that for British Pounds £3.30 extra you can have an International Signed for service which includes insurance up to £32. Insurance quotations to a value you specify in advance of shipping are available on request. PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR REASONS OF CONVENIENCE AND CURRENCY CONVERSION I CAN ONLY ACCEPT PAYMENTS BY PAYPAL FROM OVERSEAS BUYERS.

PACKING & POSTAGE: Vinyl’s are removed from covers and put in transit sleeves. All components are then placed seperately in the same polythene liner for added safety, and carefully secured between two  corrugated stiffeners taking care not to crush the spine. I use ‘Premium Quality 600 Micron Card Mailers’ with ‘Ultra Safe’ double 3.5 cm. wide latex strips across the whole of the mailer which provides excellent adhesion and protection. Internally I use 2 of the highest grade ‘B’ flute corrugated card stiffeners to prevent bending, deformation or edge/corner creasing. Packing & postage prices are NOT negotiable on items dispatched individually or separately. However, if you are a similar time multiple buyer where all items purchased are being sent to the same address and they can be combined safely, you can ask for a discounted quotation before bidding. I will always try to be fair with buyers on p&p costs but if you do not want to pay the prices on the listings or quotations please do not bid.  I am not interested in hearing from successful bidders afterwards questioning and complaining about cost of packing and postage! I always keep proof of posting but unless you pay for Recorded Delivery, International Signed For, Special Delivery or Full Insurance I may not be able to assist you with recovery of the item or any of the costs.

PAYMENT: I accept payment by PayPal only from overseas buyers and Paypal, Personal Cheques and Postal Orders in British Pounds Sterling. Cash is an option but only by Royal Mail Special Delivery and no coinage (rounded up). Payment must be completed/cleared into my account within 7 days of the auction ending otherwise I reserve the right to void the transaction

RETURNS: I DO have a standard returns policy (please see details further down in this listing) AND I am always prepared to consider anything which is reasonable. If you have a problem with an item which you buy from me for a reason which was not apparent or disclosed prior to purchase as a result of my omission or fault then I will usually accept return and full refund, including postal charges. In the unlikely event that we cannot resolve our differences by direct communication I am prepared to consider arbitration.
