THE ROLLING STONES - 'AFTERMATH' - STEREO VINYL LP - LONDON - PS 476 - 1966
Description
A 33 1/3 RPM stereo vinyl LP, 'Aftermath' by The Rolling Stones
The album was released in 1966 on London Records. This version was made and printed in the USA.
This was the 4th British (6th American) studio album from The Rolling Stones. Recorded at RCA Studios, Hollywood in December, 1965 and March, 1966 and released in April, 1966
All songs were written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards (the first Stones Album to consist totally of original compositions)
Musicians:- Mick Jagger, vocals and percussion; Keith Richard(sic), guitar and vocals; Brian Jones, guitar; Bill Wyman, bass; Charlie Watts, drums and percussion plus Ian Stewart and Jack Nitzsche, keyboards. (for a full list of instruments played see photo)
Produced by Andrew Loog Oldham, engineered by Dave Hassinger
The sleeve was designed by Stephen Inglis and features photos by David Bailey, front and rear, with sleeve notes by Dave Hassinger. Full track listing on the back cover together with musician credits etc.
The last track on Side 2 is printed as "Going Home" on the sleeve and as "Goin' Home" on the label. 'Including Paint It, Black' (sic) is printed beneath the album title and the band name on the front cover.
The printed paper, inner sleeve features the album covers of various other releases on the London and associated labels, Deram and Parrot.
NB:- This appears to be the original 1966 release, I can't find any reissues that match these details. However the inner sleeve shows album covers from some years later (e.g. Caravan's 1971 album, 'In The Land Of Grey And Pink'). This must be a replacement or has inadvertently been swapped at some point!
Catalogue number:- PS 476 (PS-476 on label)
Labels have ZAL 7259 BW on Side 1 and ZAL 7260 BW on Side 2 (Pressed at Bestway Products Inc.)
Matrix run-outs:-
- Side 1 runout, stamped: ZAL 7259-1A
- Side 2 runout, stamped: ZAL 7260-1A
Both sides have a further etched inscription, which may well be Bell Sounds and the date (mastering) but I honestly can't make it out.
Track listing:-
Side 1
1. "Paint It Black"
2. "Stupid Girl"
3. "Lady Jane"
4. "Under My Thumb"
5. "Doncha Bother Me"
6. "Think"
Side 2
1. "Flight 505"
2. "High And Dry"
3. "It's Not Easy"
4. "I Am Waiting"

Condition
The vinyl looks VG.
The LP plays well. There are some minor scratches with just few faint pops on playback. There is a mark on side 2, track 5 but it's not audible .
The sleeve is VG, with slight edge wear, faint ring wear and a couple of small marks (see photos).
The inner sleeve has some light creasing, but is unlikely to be the original one (see above)
