"KIRK'S WORK" - Roland Kirk with Jack McDuff - Prestige PR7210 USA, black/yellow deep groove label with Bergenfield address original 1st pressing LP. RVG in dead wax. VERY, VERY hard album to find, as most of the early Prestige albums are fast becoming. This is a super copy, both disc and sleeve with only very minor rubbing, absolutely NO splits or tears and of course with the now famous cover shot of Kirk, by the great jazz photographer, Don Schlitten. In addition, it is an historic classic of Kirk's varied works. Backed here by the great Jack McDuff on organ, the splendid bass of Joe Benjamin and Art Taylor's drums, this is a wonderful programme of great jazz from a true individualist of the idiom, with the likes of Coltrane and Dolphy amongst his army of admirers! This LP surely shows why. It is THE BEST in jazz!!!!!!!!!!!!
