Description
Here for sale , Roger Taylor's '' Strange Frontier '' . Dated 17th December 2014 a few months
before actual release date.
This is a rare item... Not many test pressings are made & this one was made on
behalf of Omnivore Records for the Re-issue of this title in 2015 for the RED vinyl
release, Black vinyl releases were to follow but I've never seen one, even on the Omnivore
site. So this is special being one of only a handful of copies on the BLACK vinyl & on this Label...
From the Omnivore site: "Test pressings are used to test the quality of the plating and metal parts that stamp out the records. Before we approve production, we listen for all the little anomalies that could interfere with the music. Generally, 5 to 10 copies exist unless the tests fail and the project requires a recut. Then further test pressings are made to check the new parts. Sometimes, it’s just a side or two, so there may be incomplete sets, but that’s just what it is."
It was pressed at the Rainbo Record Plant in California which has now sadly gone out
of business being bought by United Artist.
On the sleeve it states '' Side A Rejected '' for what reason I don't know, I've played this
& to me it sounds great, better if anything, than the original. The tracks sound 'clearer &
louder ''...maybe it's just me.
