An incredible (and incredibly RARE) Monster Raw Rockabilly 45 by the great Rudy Thacker on the very hard to find BLUE HEN Label out of Harrington, Delaware. Mountain Guitar is truly one of the all time great Rockabilly songs that pushed the limit for Rockabilly sound when it was released. It has an incredible Hard Rock energy level, yet the vocal delivery is Country dialect! It was so far ahead of its time when released that it sold very few copies; now it is a very highly sought-after Rockabilly 45. The recording is nice and raw and we have posted a sound clip from this record below. If you are not familiar with this record, you NEED to hear this!

The sound clip was recorded from the actual 45 being offered here, with no filtering or enhancing of any kind.

This 45 has a clean surface and retains much of its luster. Under a lamp the vinyl shows a bit of scuffing and a few light scratches. The outer lip has a small warp, which did not affect play on our portable turntable. On our lighter tracking Technics turntable, which we used to record the sound clip, this area causes a light audible noise for a few revolutions but does not skip. The Mountain Guitar side has a double label (one record label manufactured unintentionally on top of another one, which you can see in the first photo- the top label is beginning to peel around the spindle hole- the spindle hole is NOT damaged). Both of the labels show a bit of light soiling.

This 45 will be placed between pieces of cardboard inside a paper 45 sleeve for protection during shipping.
