Description

Here we have a lovely little handful of 78s. Not any old 78s,though it would be unfair to knock another`s taste in music, but here for you are 7 of the finest records issued in the 1950s. And they are;                      The Diamonds-Little Darlin`/Faithful & True(Blue Mercury)                      The Dreamweavers-It`s Almost Tomorrow/You`ve Got Me Wondering(Brunswick)                       Johnny Duncan & The Blue Grass Boys-Rockabilly Baby/last Train To San Fernando(Columbia)                       The Platters-Only You/The Great pretender(Blue Mercury)                       Charlie Drake-Splish Splash/Hello My Darlings                       Connie Francis-Who`s Sorry Now/You were Only Fooling(MGM)                       Johnny Otis Orch With Marie Adams-Ma/Romance In The dark(Capitol) These seven discs are in jolly nice condition indeed and I have played them all on a Philco 1957 record player and they are outstanding.                       Listen again to The Diamonds as they perform what they thought was a light hearted version of the original  R&B original, but it ended up being one of the best remembered rock n` roll records of our time.                       The Platters are here with the original blue pressing of this fine disc.It was issued again with a different B-side,but here we have Mr Tony Williams doing lead vocal on both sides of this fine disc.                       Johnny Duncan was an American that came to England in the skiffle craze and cut some brilliant sides, and here we get a double helping of cool class skiffle/rockabilly.                      Charlie Drake is remembered by many of us as the hapless comedian, but here he really rocks on this British version of the Bobby Darin big hit.                       The cool R&B sound of Johnny Otis is enhanced by Miss Marie Adams, his vocalist on two great sides that are a must for the collector.                        The Dreamveavers slow it down a notch with two fine sides, leaving the boys and girls to dance a bit closer.                       The 1950`s are not fully complete without Connie Francis and her masterpiece from the vaults of MGM.                       This two sided platter of brilliance is a reminder of when teenagers had jobs,Mum and dad were still married, and Elvis was on the TV(in black & white of course).                       Grab this fine example of 1950`s musical history and add them to your own collection.                       Don`t be a square, and play them loud. NOTE: Check this lot out from other sellers and you will find at least £90.00 worth of discs here, and one fellow is asking £49.00 just for the platters disc, but do not worry, for I don`t ask even half of that for these records.              Look below and see my asking price and know that Gary K. Waters always does a good deal.              You can if you wish collect these from our home in Blackpool, thus saving you even more funds, but I can assure you that I will package them nice and secure otherwise. NOTE:Have a swift look at my other listings...there are LP`s,45s and 78`s for all tastes.
