Description

Up for auction is a rare vinyl lp from ROBB KUNKEL for his album titled "Abyss"
This lp was released in 1973 on Tumbleweed Records in the US (TWS 111)
Original US Press.
Condition:
Vinyl is in clean visual EX (Excellent) Grade Condition.
Album Cover shows some mild shelf/ring wear present. There is a hole punch in the upper left hand corner of cover that denotes this as a probable promotional or cut-out copy. There is also a little cataloging sticker on the upper portion of spine. There is some moderate wear along corner edges with some light creases and rubbing.

ROBB KUNKEL -- Abyss -- RARE early 70s singer-songwriter folk rock with a soft-psych vibe.
There is some really nice orchestration from the session musicians which gives it a light, breezy, airy feel -- with a near jazzy approach. The jazzy approach fits because it looks like some of the popular West Coast Pacific Jazz performers of the 50s and 60s such as Bud Shank , Bob Cooper, Pias Johnson and Bill Perkins all appear. Danny Holien , folk/country rock/ssw also appears here on electric guitar and back-up vocals. There are also a number of other jazzmen. This was obviously a very well-put together affair, a shame it never caught on at the time.
