THIS WAS MADE IN CANADA BY PHONODISC LTD IN MARCH 1957 WITH THE IMPORTED USA ORIGINAL COVER. RECORDED BY SPECIALTY RECORDS ON THE REGENCY SPECIALTY SERIES LABEL.VERY RARE AND INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION! Long Tall Sally is the first track on Side 2. The first LP by Little Richard was originally issued on the green Regency label as SP-100 but was re-numbered as SP-2100 for the later issue. This later issued was probably manufactured in 1961. I DO SEE SOME EXTREMELY LIGHT MARKS/SCUFFS WIT A VERY SMALL PORTION OF 2-3 WHICH I CONSIDERED TO BE FEEL-ABLE. HOWEVER,NOTHING AT ALL DEEP ENOUGH TO EFFECT THE INCREDIBLE LISTENING EXPERIENCE! HAND ETCHED IN THE SIDE 1 MATRIX IS: SP-LP-100 SIDE 1 HAND ETCHED IN THE SIDE 2 MATRIX IS: SP-LP-100-SIDE 2 THE LABELS ARE FREE OF ANY WRITING OR STICKERS AND ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AS WELL! OVERALL I GRADE THE VINYL AS EX TO EX+ THE COVER PRESENTS EXCEPTIONALLY WELL! THERE IS NO WRITING OR STICKERS ANYWHERE! THERE IS LITTLE TO NO EVIDENCE OF RING/SHELF ON EITHER SIDE. THERE ARE WHAT APPEARS TO BE A COUPLE OF STAPLE HOLES NEAR THE MOUTH BY THE UPPER AND LOWER CORNERS, ALONG WITH SOILING AND CORNER/EDGE DINGS AND WEAR AS SHOWN. THE COVER HAS RETAINED MUCH OF ITS VIBRANT COLORING! THE SEAMS AND SPINE ARE IN GOOD SHAPE THERE IS A SPLIT START IN THE LOWER MIDDLE SEAM. THE REVERSE SIDE LINER NOTES ARE VERY INFORMATIVE & TOTALLY READABLE. AGAIN, THERE ARE SOME MINOR DINGS/SCUFFS & SOILING AS SHOWN. BASED ON THE ABOVE IMPERFECTIONS THE COVER GRADES EX TO EX+ AND SILL PRESENTS VERY PROUDLY! I HAVE PLAY GRADED THIS AND THE LISTENING EXPERIENCE WAS OUTSTANDING! I SUPPOSE IT YOU LISTEN VERY CLOSELY SOME MINOR NOISE COULD BE HEARD HERE AND THERE MOSTLY IN THE QUIET PASSAGES. A FEW EXTREMELY LIGHT TICS BUT NOTHING I CONSIDERED TO BE DISTRACTING AT ALL! THERE WERE NO SKIPS, STICKS, REPEATS OR LOUD DISTRACTING POPS, TICKS OR BURPS! THE LISTENING EXPERIENCE WAS VERY ENJOYABLE AND I GRADE IT AS EX+ TO NRMT! SHE'S GOT IT Richard Wayne Penniman, better known as Little Richard, the self-proclaimed "Architect of Rock 'N Roll", traveled in his early days with the legendary vaudeville star Spencer "Snake" Anthony. One of Richard's early bands had the young, then unknown singer James Brown (the Godfather of Soul), a fourteen-year-old keyboardist named Billy Preston, and the famous and legendary Rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix. His first recording session took place at WGST in Atlanta, Georgia, USA; he was backed by a local band led by Billy Wright. This session produced a local hit called "Every Hour" which enjoyed heavy airplay on Atlanta's WERD radio station which was the first completely Black-owned radio station in the United States. Little Richard, backed up by his idol Billy Wright once referred to him as the most fantastic entertainer he had ever seen. Indeed, it was Wright who used a makeup called Pancake 31. Little Richard admitted to copying Wright's penchant for heavy makeup and wild stage theatrics. With a public persona and personal life marked by sexual ambiguity, he would make his mark with later hits such as the suggestive "Tutti Frutti" and "Good Golly Miss Molly". Unbeknownst to many fans, Richard overcame a debilitating drug habit and eventually became an ordained minister. Beginning in the 1980s he saw a resurgence in his popularity as he acquired small acting roles where he impressed fans, old and new, with his unique comedic timing. As versatile and ageless as ever, Little Richard continues to delight fans the world over with his extraordinary stage presence and flamboyant antics. Now inducted into the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame, he remains one of the most popular entertainers in the world WE USE GOLDMINE AS GUIDELINE FOR OUR GRADING SYSTEM. ALL RECORDS ARE VISUALLY INSPECTED UNDER BRIGHT LIGHT. I TRY TO PLAY GRADE WHEN POSSIBLE OR AT LEAST IN ANY AREAS IDENTIFIED AS QUESTIONABLE FROM THE VISUAL INSPECTION. MINT Mint records are in most cases sealed in original shrink wrap. The only wear permissible is to the shrink wrap itself. NEAR-MINT NM records have glossy vinyl. There are no visible defects such as writing, tape, or stickers on the labels. The labels should not contain any spindle marks (from someone blindly trying to put the record on the turntable) The vinyl may have a few extremely fine hairline scratches or light scuffs that do not affect the sound quality. The vinyl will "appear" to have been unplayed (It may very well have been played and well-cared for) The album cover will have NO writing, tape, creases, folds, seam splits ,stains, ring wear or Promo holes or cuts! VG+ (EXCELLENT) VG+ records have glossy vinyl. Slight signs of wear, including light scuffs, very light scratches or slight warping that does not seriously affect the listening experience is permissible. Very slight intermittent background noise mostly in the quiet passages is acceptable. The album cover will have no more than three of the following imperfections: light writing such as initials or name in one area, minor creasing, seam splits not larger than 1". Neatly taped seams of 2" or less. It may also contain very slight ring wear or discoloration, a promo stamp, punch hole or cut-out as originally sold. VG VG Records have more obvious flaws such as more pronounced scratches & lack of gloss. Groove wear and scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail are common. When played there will be surface noise but it should not continuously overpower the music. There are NO skips permissible with no more than 1.5 grahams of tracking force. It is common to hear crackling and pops especially in the quiet passages. The labels may contain writing such as a persons name or initials or it may contain a piece of tape or sticker with or without writing. The cover may have some seam splits, writing, tape, stickers, ring wear and scuffs. VG- VG- All of the defects listed VG category would be more pronounced. The record will play through without skipping WITH NORMAL tracking force. A quick skip or two with no more that 2.5 grahams of tracking force are permissible. The record will have many obvious flaws but still enjoyable to listen to. Generally if the record is rare, it is still highly collectible. G/G+ Good (G), Good Plus (G+) Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping WITH NORMAL tracking force. A quick skip or two with no more that 2.5 grahams of tracking force are permissible. It will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear (on a styrene record, the groove will be starting to turn white). A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object.
