RICO....THAT MAN IS FORWARD VINYL LP.
This was a promotional copy so it can be safely assumed it was first early pressing.
The sleeve is in excellent order. As you can see the text on the excellent spine is perfectly legible. There are signs of handling and storage but it would be picky to say this detracts from the excellent condition. The usual slight creasing when putting back the record and mild corner bashing.
I'm leaving the promo sticker on as some collectors like this sort of thing.
Now, to the vinyl. When I took it from its sleeve it made me smile. It looks excellent plus ( would like to say near mint).
No spindle wear. I think this has had very little play. I only played it once as I'd got over Ska by the time I bought it but collected anything interesting.
RICO of course was one of music's legends. His style of playing was so distinctive and added to many other band's recordings giving it that groove and much needed polish. In addition he was extremely highly regarded by his fellow musicians and producers.
When I played the record this morning I was blown away.
The sound quality is arguably as fresh as the day it came off the press. VERY little in the way of crackle which one could put down to static as it's clear to see from the photos how immaculately shiny it is.
The engineering on this is a work of art. The separation of instruments along with the true reproduction of each instrument is almost unnerving..to coin a phrase...it's like they're playing in your living room.
I'm selling virtually all my entire record collection over the coming months due to moving abroad to retire and cannot be bothered once again to shift my near 3000 strong collection.
