REX 4 STAR EP OZ ROCK/TEEN/J.CANNON/B.O’ROURKE/B.OWENS ETC
One of 3 early rocking mixed artist EP’s on Rex. Taking the trax individually, the Judy Cannon is teen pop, Peter Gunn is a powerhouse version of the original, the Billy Owens is a rough and raw belting re- make of the old classic but the Billy O’Rourke is to me the standout track. It’s a strong rocker and would stand comparison with the great trax of Aussie 50’s (pre-Beatle) rock n roll written by the artist themselves. I guess I’m thinking of the likes of Dale Wayne, Bix Bryant etc. Plays well. Nice keeper copy of a scarce one.
