Conditions and Grading
We use a strict grading system (M/VG/G/F) in accordance with GOLDMINE'S RECORD PRICE GUIDES. Our records are graded by visual standards. When grading a disc, we grade the overall wear of the vinyl, not the label and not the cover. Defects and wear on the label are addressed separately with abbreviated notations (see list below). Photos of the cover (front and back) are enclosed for more transparency. Most of our records in the G range play much better than they look and are still enjoyable records for listening pleasure.THE VINYL
- Mint- A perfect or near perfect record, probably unplayed.
- VG++ A record with very few faint wear, mostly only one or two faint, tiny, inconsequential scratches and/or surface marks that do not affect play. This grade is very close to M-.
- VG+ A record with few (mostly faint) scratches and/or few surface marks that do not affect play. The record might have minimal surface noise, if so it is noted in the description and can be checked via soundbite.
- VG A record with some (mostly faint) scratches and/or some surface marks that do not affect play. The record might have minimal surface noise, if so it is noted in the description and can be checked via soundbite.
- VG- A record with a lot of (mostly faint)scratches and/or surface marks. The record might have minimal surface noise, if so it is noted in the description and can be checked via soundbite.
- G+ A record with any amount of faint scratches and/or surface marks plus some deeper scratches and/or surface marks. Record still has some gloss. The record might have minimal surface noise, if so it is noted in the description and can be checked via soundbite.
- G A record with any amount of faint scratches and/or surface marks plus plenty deeper scratches and/or surface marks. The record might have minimal surface noise, if so it is noted in the description and can be checked via soundbite.
- G- A record with any amount of deep scratches and/or surface marks. The record has no more gloss. The Record might have surface noise, pops and crackles but plays without skips and/or jumps. Music and vocal are still there and are not overwhelmed by surface noise.
- F A record with any amount of deep scratches and/or surface marks. The record has no gloss and looks abused. The Record has surface noise, pops and crackles which overwhelms music and vocal.
