Description

RED GARLAND Red Garland at the Prelude / Prestige - Status PRLP-7170 / Mono / Deep Groove
Vinyl condition:
VG to VG+

Up for your consideration is an original Red Garland album entitled "Red Garland at the Prelude" on the 1959 Prestige / Status label. This is a mono, deep groove vinyl album - the record has been cleaned on a VPI machine carefully and thoroughly. The vinyl has light scuffing and marks. Some of the marks are lightly detectable to the touch, this creates some light background noise but playback is continuous on my turntable and I can provide a complete MP3 file of the record's playback to the winning bidder if they so choose. Again, there were no skips on my turntable. To demonstrate the typical playback quality, I've included clips direct from the record below. First clip is from the start of side 2 and the second clip is of the start of side 1. The side 1 clip will display an intermittent hiss that repeats for about 25 seconds while the music gets started and then it fades out, that's the most noticeable flaw from playback on my system.

Cover condition:
VG+

The cover has some print chipping at the edges but is solid overall. The gloss is still shows on the front cover. Status sticker on front cover lower left. Back cover has some light tanning and light contact wear from age. A small split has formed at the top corner at the mouth, in only about an inch. Corner rub. There is no inner sleeve. This is the era of nice heavy stock covers, built to last. Though this one has some light contact wear and print chipping, overall, its a great classic jazz record.

Thanks!
Mike

Transaction Details:

Packaging:
Packaging each record takes place after payment is received. The record is taken out of its cover and sleeve and wrapped separately to avoid splits or damage during shipping. Professional packing materials are used and all orders travel well-padded.

Shipping:
I can combine shipping of multiple orders purchased within the same week. Shipping prices for combined orders will vary by weight and all domestic orders come with delivery confirmation. Orders will ship within 1-5 business days.

International orders will be shipped via the United States Postal Service First Class International mail service. Each international order will have a postmarked receipt with a customs number that can be used to find where the package entered your country - this also serves as proof I shipped your package. Each order goes through this process.

The United States Postal Service raised their rates as of January 28th, 2013. Please understand the higher shipping rates are beyond my control. Also, I am unable to mark a package as a gift or alter the final price of an item to help the buyer avoid paying import fees. This is illegal here in the United States and I will not break the law, please do not ask me to do so.

Grading:
Each record is conservatively graded. I take time to provide a detailed description, regularly accompanied by detailed pictures and, at times, a sound clip of the record during playback.

SS = Still Sealed
Never opened. Any flaws (torn shrinkrwrap, creasing) will be indicated in the description.

NM- = Near Mint Minus
Has been opened, but is still flawless with no damage whatsoever.

VG+ = Very Good Plus
- Vinyl: May have scuff marks and signs of some wear but will still play almost perfectly throughout, with only "barely detectable" crackles or pops. A slight noise at the begining is allowable, but the remainder must be nearly flawless.
- Cover: May only have the slightest signs of normal wear.

VG = Very Good
The majority of records (worth selling) fall under this grade.
- Vinyl: May crackle, pop or make other annoying noises, but only occasionally,never continuously, and not more loudly than the music being listened to.
- Cover: Normal used cover wear such as ring wear and split seams. If there is abnormal damage such as tears or markings, but the seller still feels that it qualifies as a "VG", the damage must be described in comments attached to the item.

G+ = Good Plus
- Vinyl: May have continuous crackles, pops, etc... but not so loud as to make the music completely unenjoyable for the casual listener.
- Cover: More than normal wear and tear.
