Description

Beautiful, highly collectible true 1959 first pressing of "Red in Blues-ville" by legendary jazz pianist Red Garland, accompanied by Sam Jones (bass) and Art Taylor (drums).

This copy features all the critical identifiers required by serious jazz purists and audiophile collectors:

The Label: Black text on original deep gold background featuring the iconic fireworks outer ring [4180799]. Displays the 203 South Washington Ave, Bergenfield, N.J. address, authenticating this as a definitive 1959 first-run release.

The Dead Wax Matrix: Features the authentic machine-stamped "RVG" (Rudy Van Gelder master signature) alongside the hand-etched "PRLP 715 1A" identifier, confirming this disc came from the highly sought-after very first lacquer cut session.

Condition Details:

Vinyl Disc (VG+): Exceptionally clean with a beautiful vintage gloss and high shine. No deep scratches, scuffs, or noticeable handling marks. Plays wonderfully with clear, punchy, immediate tones true to the signature Van Gelder home-studio recording style.

Album Cover (VG): Structurally sound with crisp graphics and bright teal colors. Displays minor, expected vintage shelf wear/edge wear, but has no split seams, heavy staining, or unsightly writing.Inclusions:

Comes complete with its rare, original period-accurate plastic inner liner sleeve.
