Description

Artist:  ALEXANDER GIBSON conducting the ROYAL OPERA HOUSE ORCHESTRA, Covent Garden

 

Title:   “Faust” Ballet Music / “Carmen” Suite

 

Label:   RCA LIVING STEREO.  Labels with shaded dog logo are red with silver text.  Stereo pressing on medium thick vinyl with deep groove.  Catalog number is LSC 2449. 

 

Matrix numbers (stamped) are A2/1S and A3/1S, respectively.

DISC: 

 

Side One:  Vinyl is gorgeous NM, a beauty!  The playing surface is immaculate, with a high luster, played a small number of times and handled with care.  No marks or blemishes.   Plays beautifully.

 

Side Two:  Would also grade NM, except for the presence of some very faint soft blemishes due to storage.  On a top sound system there may be some very faint soft ticks, but nothing more serious.  No scratches, scuffs, or evidence of having been played.  For this reason I would grade this side VG+ to VG++.

 

Satisfaction is fully guaranteed.  Overall a very fine copy of this holy grail of classical audiophile albums. 

 

JACKET:  Jacket is beautiful NM- with flawless front and back panels.  Seams and spine are excellent, very slight ding at bottom right corner.  An excellent accompaniment to the lovely disc!
