Description
One of the scarcest and finest of the RCA shaded dog “Living Stereo Classical” (LSC) series, from 1960. This LP entitled “Strauss: Also sprach Zarathustra” features the CHICAGO SYMPHONY conducted by FRITZ REINER, in a performance of the noted work by Richard Strauss (Op. 30).
Catalog number is RCA LSC-1806. Label is red with “shaded” dog (see scan). Stamper numbers are A1/1S on both sides.
Side One contains the first portion of the work totaling 15 minutes, 43 seconds; while Side Two contains the concluding 16 minutes and 6 seconds.
Jacket is in nice overall condition with no serious flaws. Nice clean art work, the reverse is clean except for a small amount of general surface wear due to storage. The original owner attempted to remove the red advertising sticker affixed to the front of the jacket, leaving only a small portion remaining. Otherwise there is no writing on the jacket, splits, or other problems. Overall very presentable.
Condition of vinyl is NM. Has full 100% original gloss, no discernible flaws, appears to have been played a very small number of times, perhaps only once or twice, and handled with utmost care. The brilliance and clarity are superb, and I am certain that the winning bidder will be very pleased. As always, your satisfaction is guaranteed.
