RCA LSC 2363, TCHAIKOVSKY Violin Concerto, Henryk Szeryng (violin) / Munch, London Symphony Orchestra (1960) 1s/1s, Indianapolis pressing. This is NOT a reissue – it is the original 50+ year old shaded dog pressing. This copy is clean and glossy and plays almost perfectly, with only a two or three very light, barely noticeable tics near the beginning of side 1. It is one of the hard-to-find and most beautiful of the RCA living stereo violin recordings. The violin sound is very realistic and lifelike in a wide and deep sound stage. The vinyl surfaces are clean, glossy and quiet with NO pops, clicks, or skips. There are some very light scuff marks on each side that make no sound, except for the two or three very lights tics already mentioned. The vinyl grading is EX/EX+, and the labels are very clean with no spindle wear (see photos). The jacket is clean, but grading is VG+ due to a seam split along the top edge, and another on the bottom right corner (see photos). The inner sleeve grading is EX. In summary, this is a very nice 1s/1s copy of this wonderful golden age recording that plays nearly perfectly. Feel free to return for full refund if not completely satisfied.
