Description

DESCRIPTION: Dean Barlow and The Montereys on Onyx Records #513 singing DEAREST ONE, b/w THROUGH THE YEARS. This is an original first pressing on Onyx from 1957, and a very rare WHITE LABEL DJ PROMO RECORD NOT FOR SALE. This is a fabulous doowop classic with killer harmonies on both sides. One is a great uptempo rocker, and the other a killer beautiful midtempo doowop ballad. A great piece for a serious collector.

CONDITION: Strong and solid VG+++ to near mint for both the labels and the vinyl on both sides of this great rare record. The labels and the vinyl are in brillant shape and both sides play great.

I USE THE GOLDMINE GRADING GUIDE

MINT (M): Record should appear to have just left the manufacturer without any handling. It should appear perfect - no scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, no writing, tears or splits.

NEAR MINT (NM): A record that is otherwise Mint but has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws that do not effect the play.

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+): This record has been handled and played either infrequently or very carefully. This could mean that there are light paper scuffs, or slight scratches that will not effect the play. Slight warps that do not effect the sound are OK.

VERY GOOD (VG): This record could show signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl lustre, light surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails from countless spins on the turntable. A VG record may have some audible surface noise when played, although any such noise should not overwhelm the music.

GOOD (G): Good should mean the record is well-played with any number of defects such as complete loss of surface sheen, agravating surface noise etc. but can still be played without skipping
