Description
Hello and welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on: TITLE & ARTIST: "The Unexpected" - by Raymond Scott and The Secret 7 on the Top Rank Records label (RM 335), in beautiful original mono sound, released in 1959. CONDITION: JACKET - VG++ (Black jacket has virtually no wear on front cover; back cover has ring and rub wear, and edges and corners are lightly worn; otherwise there are no splits, tears or marks - please see actual album in photos); VINYL - VG++(Vinyl is in beautiful condition, with some very light scuffs; there are some widely scattered very light pops as I listen now). SPECIAL FEATURES: Very rare late-'50s combo jazz with many astounding twists, with clean clear vinyl producing rich and full sound from Raymond Scott's "Secret" 7 players with names like these: Jones, Hinton, Burrell, Costa, Taylor, Edison, Davis and Thielemans. Front cover is a nice Scott graphic, and back cover features fascinating original liner notes by Nat Hentoff himself. If your taste runs a bit towards offbeat Space Sounds, then this album will have many charms for you. I love it! TRACKS: Temptation, Waltz of the Diddles, And the Cow Jumped Over the Moon, A Message from Where, In the Beginning, Someone to Watch Over Me, March of the Diddles, Night and Day, And the Dish Ran Away With the Spoon, Quiet Entrance, Jill, and Over the Rainbow. Thanks! If you have further questions about condition or content, please don't hesitate to ask. You may bid with unworried confidence. Our sales history is your assurance of absolute integrity. Thank you and good luck. OUR GRADING SYSTEM: We grade visually, and we are happy to listen to any LP and give you an aural grade as well. SS (Still Sealed as from the factory); NM (Near Mint - our highest grade; the vinyl has only a very few light marks that do not affect play); VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus - a few more light marks than Near Mint; still a great record that plays near perfectly); VG+ (Very Good Plus - an enjoyable, played and loved, obviously used but still listenable record, usually with some light pops, but free of major audible distraction; jacket may be lightly worn, slightly dinged, even very lightly split, but NEVER trashed); VG (Very Good) and below - we usually do NOT sell these, but if we have some good reason to offer such a record, we will explain completely).
