Rare 1966 mono vinyl LP with a "bullet" promo sticker on the Side One label
This is a good playable copy of this seriously rare Aussie beat album by Ray Hoff & the Hoff Beats
Widely rated as one of the best Aussie garage-freak beat albums ever released it consists of one live side and one studio side
Originally formed in Sydney but also based for periods in Perth and Adelaide, it is incredible that the Off Beats' popularity and credibility as a live act never made it past one album and a handful of singles. They were signed to RCA in Sydney, and their single of Chuck Berry's ‘Little Queenie’ had some success on radio, but didn’t set the charts on fire.
Soon after, Hoff returned to Perth, having lost three band members to a new line-up of Billy Thorpe's Aztecs
It was in Perth, 1966 that Ray put together a fresh line-up for his band, signed with local label Clarion and cut his one and only album which still ranks today as a beat and soul-funk marvel from the era.

Condition:

The record is in VERY GOOD+ condition. Side One is clean and shiny with just a few light surface marks. Side Two has considerably more surface marks but thankfully they are mostly only light and do not click, skip or jump. Overall the record plays very well with no skips or jumps on my system
The labels are clean with moderate spindle trails

The unlaminated sleeve is graded VERY GOOD with light ring wear on the back and some rubbing on the spine (see picture) but no split seams or tears. The sleeve has some rippling in the thin cardboard but no other damage or defect
