Welcome to the auction!  I am helping my jazz musician uncle clear out his old and valuable classic record collection (you can see his own recording "Shanghai Blue" on the CD Baby website).  This is his favorite so we listed it first hoping someone else will find and enjoy this very rare collection here at half price - compare to $395 on audiophile.

This LP set is in good used condition. The box is tight, and worn in several places.  It has the catalog and 22 records in their cases.

The unique genius of Thelonious Monk is captured in development on this fabulous 22 LP Box Set compilation of his Complete Riverside Recordings.  Made only for export to Japan, this rare set represents the entire existing output of the 30 occasions – studio and live recording sessions – on which Monk recorded during his six-year stay at the Riverside label. 

Monk’s recordings from 1955-1961 are presented in chronological order, with 153 performances. The set includes partial takes, in-studio conversation, and 14 previously unissued items exclusive to this collection.
