Description

Here’s a very rare 45rpm single, produced by Brian Wilson. The Honeys were a female surf group that included Brian’s wife-to-be, Marilyn Rovell. This is their lone outing on the Warner Brothers label, number 5430 from 1964. The songs are the majestic Spector-ish production of “He’s A Doll” with “The Love of a Boy and A Girl” on the flip. This is the fourth single by the Honeys, their final release of the early 1960s, and is by far the hardest to find. Also, this is a red label STOCK copy, which is many times harder to find than the promo copy that was handed out to disc jockeys. To give you an idea of the rarity of this record, I have an old record price guide from the early 1990s that suggests this record might not even exist. Of course, the internet later proved this not to be true, as a few copies have indeed turned up over the years, including this one. So, if I’m a Beach Boys nut, why am I selling it? Well, after paying big bucks for this copy on ebay years ago, I was shocked to actually have the opportunity to pick up one that was in a little better shape. Speaking of condition, what kind of shape is this record in? I’ll give it a strong VG to VG+ on the vinyl. It plays quite well, and I’ve (carefully) enjoyed it for years. The labels are as pictured. Actually, the vinyl looks a little better than what the label would suggest. Drop me a message if ebay doesn’t calculate shipping for you. California residents add 7.975% tax. Happy bidding!!
