Description

This is a rare 1978 Australian release with heavily texturedgold foil box containing the same 13 LP titles as the UK release (plus a"Rarities" album), some with different cover art (Australian artworkon the cover for "Beatles for Sale").


This collection was eventually withdrawn from sale inAustralia due to EMI UK not liking the appearance of the gold box, and thefragile nature of the gold leaf covering - leading it to be replaced with themore familiar blue version. The collection is much rarerthan the standard blue collections. Recent auctions have priced it in the$400~$600 range.

This set is a very treasured Gold Box Collection of TheBeatles Records (including Rarities). This box is covered in gold leaf (whichis a bit worn as pictured). The records have never been played, while and the covers are in excellent NMcondition.
