Hello there! Many thanks for perousing my items! When you've looked here, you might like to check out some of my other items, I have some other very rare Beatles etc. items currently listed with many more to come, heck, I'd even suggest you add me to your favourite sellers to keep on top of all the goodies that I'm going to list over the coming months!
I have collected records since I was very young, however Iincreasingly I have realised that I have far too many, and soI have been slowly trying to rationalise my extensive collection over the years, I have sold many major rarities over the years, from major BEATLES and 60s rarities, through PUNK and PROG ROCK, CLASSICAL and BLUES. Basically I've had alot of very rare records and in dribs and drabs have sold them off. I've never had negative feedback, and had many repeat customers. I will only post completely insured and tracked.
Here we have two of the rarest UK font variants on beatles 7"s around, and I've listed them together so you can tick off two major "wants" in one fell swoop!
Firstly The legendarily rare TALL/ THIN FONT Paperback Writer/ Rain. So hard to get hold of that when Bruce Spizer was compiling his essential book on the rarest Beatles variants he used a computer generated image (If you don't already own that book I can't stress how useful it is if you're starting off on your journey of rare Beatles pressings!) Released on June the 10th 1966, this was their first single of the year, and like usual it topped the charts, though only for two weeks as the KINKS released Sunny Afternoon and knocked them off! This variant however comes up only very rarely indeed! The Most stand-out characteristics are the tall "crushed-style" font used for both the song titles, and the publishing credits, the other identifier is that unlike the other label variant this has the year 1966 significantly taller than the "P" that preceeds it. You may just be looking at this listing out of curiosity, in which case, I can understand that that might not sound massively exciting, but if you've been waiting for one of these to come along you'll appreciate how rare they are!
RECORD CONDITION: VG/VG+, it has a general dusting of surface hairline marks, though nothing more than that, and absolutely nothing even remotely feelable.The audio is great and strong. RECORD LABELS: VG+, completely free from grafitti/stickers/stains, just some light spindle rubs, and what you can see in the photos. In a nice example of a correct "Big M" Miner's sleeve.
A really nice record to have in your collection, which many people are lacking!

Second Up... The also very rare, though sometimes doesn't get it fair dues as a rarity CHUBBY FONT Ticket To Ride/ Yes It Is. Barring the "Parlophone/45" text at the top and the perimeter writing, all of the text on this record is "Chubby" or bold, except the central "Sold In UK..." text which is crushed. This text variation is also founs on "Help!" singles, though they are by no means particularly rare, not like these!
Record Condition: VG, a general dusting of surface hairlines/marks dullen some of the lustre, but still plays strongly throughout. Absolutely fine audio. Record Labels: VG/VG-, generally pretty good, but for a very feint "Dave" written below the publisher's credits on side one (in dark biro, I've caught it as best as I can in the photos!) and a little rubbing around the central spindle hole of the A-side. Visible in the photos. Other than that just light spindle trails, no further stains, grafitti or abbrasions. Very nice!
