Description
On offer is a very rare Beatles please please Me Black and Gold label stereo LP.
A very early pressing possibly a first I'm not an expert but the following details will inform those of you who are!
Northern Songs credits on both sides with Dick James credits for tracks 5 and 6 on side 1.
1G 1R mother and stamper
Matrix numbers YEX 94-1 and YEX 95-1.
Cat number PCS 402
Sleeve has Photo Angus McBean in the bottom right hand corner
Polythene lined Eminex liner
My wife used to order all her Beatles records well in advance so that she got it on the first day they were available. All this points to a very early pressing
I have graded the condition using the Record Collectors grading system and have checked with a friend of mine who regularly buys and sells records on Ebay. The record plays well with slight surface noise, particularly between tracks, in a few places but nothing major. If you like you can ring up and I will play it for you!
I have graded the record as Very Good plus
The sleeve as Good plus
The Eminex cover has a 4 inch tear to one side.
