I AM A LONGTIME FRIEND OF DENNIS ADAMS, WHO WAS THE CO-OWNER OF OUTLAW RECORDS AND THE PRODUCER OF ALL OF FRANK THAYER'S GREAT ROCKABILLY RECORDINGS MADE IN 1961 AND ALSO IN 1979-80. DENNIS AND FRANK WERE BOTH BIG FANS OF SUN RECORDS AND ORIGINAL MEMPHIS ROCKABILLY, AND DENNIS WENT TO GREAT LENGTHS TO RE-CREATE THAT ORIGINAL RAW SOUND IN ALL OF FRANK'S EARLY 1960s-ERA AND 1980s-ERA RECORDINGS. DENNIS RECENTLY DISCOVERED HE STILL HAD A SMALL QUANTITY OF MINT ORIGINAL VINTAGE OUTLAW RECORDS 45s PRESSED IN 1961-62 AND ALSO SOME OF THE LATER 1980-82 PERIOD 45s AND LPs - IT IS MY GREAT HONOR TO HAVE BEEN CHOSEN BY DENNIS TO OFFER THESE RARE ROCKABILLY VINYL TREASURES ON EBAY!
This is an ORIGINAL 1961 U.S. OUTLAW RECORDS (NEW MEXICO LABEL) 45 RPM RECORD containing the rockabilly tunes titled 'Long Grey Highway'/'Evening Shadows' from New Mexico rockabilly Frank Thayer and The Lyonals. It is Outlaw Records catalog number 1, and is a GUARANTEED 1961 ORIGINAL, NOT A 'REPRO' REPRODUCTION AND NOT A 'COLLECTORS PRESSING' - AS STATED ABOVE, THIS RECORD CAME DIRECTLY FROM OUTLAW RECORDS CO-OWNER DENNIS ADAMS!! The opening bid price was determined from a survey of previously completed eBay auctions of this 45. 'Long Grey Highway' will remind you of the Elvis Presley classic 'Mystery Train', 'Evening Shadows' is a Roy Orbison style rockabilly ballad.
