Description

This auction is for the very rare classic 2nd album "A QUICK ONE" by THE WHO on the original REACTION label, cat # 593002 (MONO). It is a FIRST PRESSING, matrix A2/B1. The cover, as I hope you can see from the pics, is in extremely nice condition, not Mint but certainly a high "Excellent". Please study the picture below. At some point someone has rested a piece of paper they were writing on on the cover and there is a very faint impression "BRIAN JEFFELS" on the cover (shame on you Brian, wherever and whoever you are!). This is very faint and can really only be seen if the light hits it at a certain angle. The textured blue REACTION labels are in good shape, with middling spindle wear. The vinyl looks VG, plays Excellent+ due to the high quality heavy vinyl of the time. There is almost no crackle on the run-in groove. There are the odd "ticks" here and there between tracks - but no thumps jumps or sticks! I'm listening to the record as I type this, and the sound is as vibrant and full now as it was back in 1965 when I first heard it. This album was in the forefront of the "pop-art" movement and established THE WHO as a frontline band.
