Description
This show aired the week of January 14,15, 1984 and is Show # 84-03 featuring Jerry Reed. The record will grade VG+. There is a skip a few seconds into the track on side 2. The label is in VG+ to VG++ condition. The Playlist will grade VG+, some staining. The Play list will come with an extra copy of the the playlist in a plastic sleeve. All records will come in a generic white or see-thru vinyl archival quality sleeve. Each LP is in used condition and I will try to provide the condition of each LP to the best of my ability. These were typically played only once on the day that it aired at one of the Westwood affiliated radio stations. However, also typically they were disposed of by either giving them away or throwing them away. I found these (over 100 from 1983 to 1986) at a yard sale and many were beyond any useful condition. I do not listen to the entire LP but, I do listen to a good portion of each. Most all will grade VG+ to Excellent but, some still have a skip or a pop. I will make note of these as they are found.
Please listen to the Sound Bites. This sound bites are typically taken on the first part of the track on each side of the LP. All sound bites are recorded from an audio-technica LP120-USB Direct Drive Professional Turntable.
LIVE FROM GILLEY'S was aired on the WESTWOOD ONE RADIO NETWORKS. The LP’s for sale are the original recordings that were sent to Westwood radio stations.
This and all other Gilley’s LP’s featured live performances from Gilley’s Famous Honky Tonk in Pasadena, Texas. Each LP is dedicated to a famous Artist for the entire hour. Gilley’s drew huge crowds for many years and many of its guest included a WHO’S Who of famous people. After many years of a lot famous and not-so-famous people the club change due to the downward spiral of the oil industry and a dispute between the 2 owner’s Mickey Gilley and Sherwood Cryer, the club finally closed and burned to the ground soon after. Not sure if there was ever any evidence of Arson but, it was suspicious. Each LP is interspersed with advertisements from companies that paid for air time. Each LP will also will come with an original Play List and a copy of that same play list. I have made copies because some will not be in the best condition.
