• Here it is!  Queens of the Stone Age original 1998 blue vinyl pressing, that was limited to 200 copies, and only sold by the band on their first tour . I purchased this from Josh Homme himself back in 1998, while quotsa was on tour. They played at Zaphods in Ottawa, Canada, and after the show sold their records , upfront near the stage. I got Josh to sign my copy, and as you can see, he was creative with his choice of words! Haha, he had a good sense of humour.  ( got some B&W pictures somewhere if that is of interest as well)

  The vinyl is in very nice condition ( Vg+) and plays beautifully. No issues. The cover has some water damage , as you can see in the pics. A little water dripped on it while watering a plant that was above it ( about 10 years ago).  No damage to vinyl!

  There are many bootlegs and fakes out there, but this one is THE original and has all the markings to prove it ( etching in the deadwax, and so on) .here's some info i found on the internet concerning this matter:

I've noticed that a couple of the QOTSA albums (the self titled debut and Songs for the Deaf) are bootlegged to death. I'm currently watching an ebay listing for bootleg green vinyl version of the self titled album which is being listed as an original (I figured out it was a boot by asking a few questions) which is way, way more than a bootleg issue is worth, and who knows how much it will end up going for. You can pick up bootleg issues of the album on green vinyl through discogs for about £15.

To save anyone else being conned I thought I'd make a post on how to spot these boots. Most of this info is available through discogs, but for those who don't use that site, I thought this might be helpful.

All original copies have etchings in the dead wax. MR-151-A is etched at 6 o'clock, and L-50953 is at the 12 o'clock position relative to each other. These etchings are on side one. Some bootlegs have no etchings at all, while others have all the etchings together.

The biggest give away however is the gatefold sleeve. All bootlegs that I'm aware of come in a gatefold, which is a very close replica of the original, however this is one key give away.

There is no opening on the left side of the sleeve on the original, but with the boots, there is an opening, that is clearly different to the original. Here is a picture illustrating that. The bootleg is on the left, the original is on the right.

The original pressing was done in the following colours:

1st Pressing 198 Green 302 Translucent Yellow 2500 Black

2nd Pressing 198 Blue (Tour exclusive)

If you find one that is coloured, but not in one of the above mentioned colours, then it's a bootleg. I'm not aware of boots in colours other than the ones I mentioned but it's worth noting.

Anyway, I hope this helps a few people to not get conned on ebay.
