Description
"INVITAITON TO GREATER PROFITS" RADIO TRANSCRIPTION DISCS ISSUED BY P. B.S (THE PROGRESSIVE BROADCASTING SYSTEM). ONE COMPLETE, APPROXIMATELY 60 MINUTE RADIO PROGRAM ON THESE TWO 16 INCH, RED VINYL, 33 1/3 RPM DISCS.
These are demonstration discs from The Progressive Broadcasting System sent to radio stations who were not currently affiliated with a major network, to join The Progressive Broadcasting System as an affiliate.
The Progressive Broadcasting System, described on these discs as "The 5th Major Network", was a short-lived radio network began broadcasting on November 26, 1950 and folded on January 31, 1951. You can find more information on the network on the Progressive Broadcasting System Wikipedia page
These discs contain a 60 minute informational program designed to inform and sell independent radio stations on becoming PBS affiliates. The program hosted by Harry Von Zell. A excellent description of the network is given as well as a sample of a typical broadcasting day. There is information on how the network works, some of the financial terms and other details
The programing schedule, described on the program as "The world's greatest daytime network radio programming” incudes variety shows, music programs, audience participation programs, soap opera, quiz shows & children’s features.
