Description
Radio Show Transcription Disc From The Armed Forces Radio & Television Service. Two incomplete radio programs, approximately 30 minutes on this 16 inch, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm disc. This disc was issued to Armed Forces radio stations for broadcast to U. S. troops and not available to the general public, very rare!
Disc is circa early to mid 1950's
“Music From America” radio program #681. This is a rebroadcast of "The Bell Telephone Hour" radio program for broadcast to U. S. troops serving overseas. This disc contains part 1 of 2, approximately 13 minutes of a 30 minute program. Program features guest Isaac Stern performing with Donald Voorhees & The Bell Telephonr Hour Orchestra. Music includes 1. "Prelude To Act 3 of Lohengrin" (Wagner), 2. "Finale From Violin Concerto In D Major" (Beethoven) featuring violinist Isaac Stern. Excellent live performance followed by applause from the audience. Total time is 13:34
"Hollywood Music Hall" radio program #354. This disc contains part 1 of 2, approximately 15 minutes of a 25 minute broadcast. This program is hosted by Hugh Douglas who gives musical commentary and plays records from Broadway shows. Total time is 14:53
Disc is in EX- Condition with EX- sound
Due to their size, 16 inch discs will not play on most standard turntables. For $10 I can make a CD copy the disc for the buyer only
