Description

This is a rare chance to bid on one of Elvis's rarest and most collectable albums in excellent condition. This is "The Best Of Elvis" on HMV 10" DLP1159. His third and last album on the label in 1957 and a real rarity with a correspondingly high book price for examples in excellent condition like this one. Let me detail the condition starting with the all important vinyl. Taking the lovely 10" record out of its original liner the first impession is how pristine it looks. On close inspection there are just a few very light scuff marks from removing from and putting back in the liner. Otherwise this looks excellent. The labels are pristine with only a few light spindle marks which would indicate that this record hasn't been played much at all. On playing the album it sounds like it looks ie great with no ticks, skips or excessive background noise. There is a little background noise and some slight distortion on some of the higher notes but as the grooves between tracks are very quiet I would conclude that this was a feature of these recordings. As I have said the liner is original and in very good condition. The sleeve itself I would grade as very good to excellent. Take a look at the pictures. There are no major faults only a slightly bumped front bottom right front corner, a very small scuff/tear to bottom flip back, some slight bumping to opening edges and some very minor ringwear and handling creases. Considering the renown fragility of these 1950's thin card sleeves I think this one is close to excellent. The tracks in case you didn't know are; Heartbreak Hotel, I Dont Care If The Sun Dont Shine, Blue Moon, Tutti Frutti, All Shook Up, Hound Dog, Too Much, Any Way You Want Me, Dont Be Cruel, Playin For Keeps. I know what it is like to buy a record from eBay only to be very dissapointed with the condition when it arrives so I am convinced that any Elvis fan buying this record won't be sorry.
