Description

Here we have an exceedingly rare record. Called a broken ring Columbia Climax record.

This record was pressed during the famous Victor/Columbia disagreement of 1901. Eldridge Johnson, of Victor bought out the Burt Co. pressing plant from underneath Columbia This happened when Columbia's President, Edward Easton, was out of town.  During this period, Johnson had all the Climax matrices stamped with a small “VTM.”  Johnson then used the Burt Record Co. as leverage to get Columbia to drop patent lawsuits against Victor and arrange a cross-licensing agreement before he sold the Burt Record C. back to Edward Easton.

The record itself is exceptionally clean.  It plays through without issue.  Notice the VTM stamp at the 2:00 position of the label.  The label itself is rare, very few were produced with a broken silver ring.

Don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity!!
