Description
The following auction is for a HUGELY sought-after record, STAN MARTIN - STAN MARTIN IS DR. COOL (RAM RECORDS 1978). Both the record and the sleeve are in EX condition, the sleeve only having the SLIGHTEST bit of wear. It contains a very HUGE northern soul anthem that appears to be gaining momentum in the UK as of late, namely, "BIG MOUTH WOMAN". The rest of the record is a nice mix of soul, funk and modern soul. Stan Martin is a WEST INDIAN transplant who recorded this album in West Toronto, but strangely, it was distributed in a mid-sized city 45 minutes away called Hamilton on RAM RECORDS (Toronto's industrial counterpart). To my knowledge, this was the only record RAM distributed *I've researched it in the Hamilton Public Archives, and RAM RECORDS seemed not to have paid their business taxes*. All the same, smokin' stuff on this one... I only know one other guy who has this LP, and he only has it because he bought out an old store's stock. Bid like you mean it on this one - you won't see it again!
There is a reserve, albeit reasonable, on this one due to the incredible rarity offered here. Not many were pressed (as if you didn't know that already), and some people in Hamilton have never come up on this one...
