The Beatles
Day Tripper/We Can Work it Out
Rare misprinted labels-Gram & Parl!
42g!

Well, you lucky folks-how often do you see a rare ORIGINAL misprinted label of The Beatles turn up? One from the hey-days, back in 1965....
GRAB THIS WITH BOTH HANDS WHILST YOU CAN-I DON'T KNOW WHEN ANOTHER WILL TURN UP?!?

A little history about this pressing: This single was released on the 9th of December 1965 and got to the number 1 position, where it stayed for 5 weeks-from December the 16th 1965.
NOW, on the 1st of July 1965, EMI decided to merge all of it's labels together, into one holding company. With this decision also came the decision to change the labels' rim text; from "The Parlophone Co. Ltd" to the parent company's rim text of "Gramophone Company Ltd." As you can see from the date of release of this single and the date of change-over, it certainly wasn't immediate and with this slow change-over a VERY FEW copies of this single came out with BOTH kinds of rim text-one to each side!....And here is one!!!!

Catalogue number: R 5389

Matrix Numbers:
Side 1: 7XCE 18341-4.
Side 2: 7XCE 18342-1.

Mothers/Stampers:
Side 1: 1/HM
Side 2: 9/PH

Vinyl: VG(+). Only light hailine marks-sounds superb turned right up! Just the dirt/dust in the grooves can be occasionally heard through playback, so a gentle professional clean will certainly help this.
Lovely DEEP BASS for Day Tripper.
"KT" tax codes stamped into the run-off grooves to both sides.

Labels: EX-. Superb and RARE (what a great combination!). Only a small amount of hole wear and the spindle marks are light-you have to angle them to the light to see the handful that is there.
Tiny bit of sticky residue to side 2.
Clear-without tears or writing.
Side one rim text: "The Parlophone Co.Ltd"
Side two rim text: "The Gramophone Co.Ltd"
The text to side one also appears to be of a more fine version than side two, where the text is more bold-noticable in the "Sold In UK.." text.
Raised "KT" tac code to the side 1 label.

Sleeve: VG. An original type 1 sleeve.
There is some writing to the front, some feathering to the opening and two small tears to the back window-other than that, she is in GREAT condition.
6'-to 50' EMI record tokens ad to the back.

I have been dealing The Beatles records for sometime now and I have come across this rareity ONCE before..Grab it whilst you can as it'll be a talking piece of anyones collection.
