Description

Rare Beatles Revolver LP; mono. Black label; yellow Parlophone name; silver print. Includes "Sold in UK subject to resale price conditions". Matrix/Runout: XEX.605 (side 1); XEX.606 (side 2). PMC 7009.
Side 2, track 4 listed as DR. ROBERT. In subsequent pressings, this was corrected to DOCTOR ROBERT.
Please check photos of record and sleeve to confirm these facts!
A close inspection of small matrix numbers 'cut' into the record shows Side 1 as XEX 605-2 and Side 2 as XEX 606-3. This suggests that it is what is referred to as a second pressing, variation B; but still before Dr Robert was corrected. It was also, I understand from 'learned' internet pages, an EMI pressing, rather than CBS.
The record is 50 years old this year and would have been played regularly in the early years. The cover shows some signs of discolouration, particularly around edges. The spindle hole is still good. There are no major scratches on the record itself, but some small isolated marks. These may well clean off with professional attention, but I have not tried to do so.
