Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Led Zeppelin began recording between 9-10:45 PM. The performance was for BBC Radio 1 'In Concert' and tape delayed on air, broadcast on radio April 4th at 7pm
The next day after the recording Jimmy & Robert returned to the Paris Cinema Theatre to supervise the editing of the night's performance into the LP format.
Documents found a few years ago revealed how, before the radio broadcast, Jimmy stepped in after their recording and advised that Led Zeppelin was withdrawing their approval of the show, demanding that the recording not be made available to the rest of the world. Jimmy eventually ended up remixing the recording. A BBC memo shows the group felt "this will be better technically both for the BBC and for us and it will cost the same amount of money". The performances are unanimously essential. It’s fascinating to hear Zeppelin toy with the arrangements in a proper studio setting, adding subtle new shades. ‘What Is and What Should Never Be,’ for example, finds Robert Plant singing through a wall of reverb, with fuller vocal harmonies. The surging, punk-ish ‘Communication Breakdown’ is even more distorted and explosive than its album counterpart. But the true highlights are the covers, particularly a groove-heavy revamp of Whole Lotta Love’ built on Jimmy Page‘s searing and riffing guitar. The live versions on disc two aren’t always perfectly played, but they were always passionate. ‘Going to California’ is filled with awkward transitions and fumbled lyrics, but its mandolin-fueled balladry is incredibly poignant. ‘Heartbreaker’ is even grittier and more propulsive than the standout version on ‘Led Zeppelin II,’ particularly with John Paul Jones‘ amped-up bass.
