Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. LONG TIME highly regarded HARD ROCK private press from Texas on the "OZONE" label. Original 1975 first pressings like this have sold for a few hundred ($) in collector circles, not any easier to find 40 years down the road...

Formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas, Oz Knozz'es original crew included multi-instrumentalists Jack Alford, Bill Massey and Duane Massey, all natives of the Texas area.Alford left the group in 1971 and was replaced by drummer Marty Naul, while the next year the trio was joined by guitarist Richard Heath. In 1975 Oz Knozz released privately their debut ''Ruff Mix'', recorded at Sugarhill Studios in Texas.

''Ruff Mix'' is a strange yet quite solid album. It swirls mainy around the Hard Rock territory, the second track ''Peanut Butter Yoni'' even sounds like a predecessor to the heavy rock scene which would come 5 years later. However it also contains strong amounts of progressive rock, offering a varied and very strong style, thanks to the massive use of different instruments. The guitar work ranges from hard and powerful to melodic and bluesy and, supported by some great keyboard parts, including some awesome organ and synth waves -- a diverse production of tracks with adventurous and passionate musicianship. The vocals of Heath and Massey have a strong American flavor, typical of the Hard Rock style of the country, but overall they sound simply great. The three-part 15-min. suite ''Doodley Squat'' is absolutely amazing at moments with heavy dual keyboard parts, crunchy guitars, bluesy references and expressive vocals, creating a great hard prog trilogy with lot of energy.

Overall one of the better US private press progressive rock albums from the 1970s ...What separates Oz Knozz from the others, is a strong compositional component, with plenty of original ideas and superb instrumentation (especially the guitar work).

For many years the original LP remained a rare sought-after item. Very nice USA hardrock/progrock with a high amount of energy and impressive songwriting. Strongly recommended for those into such a sound......
